The H-1B is the most common visa category for director of projects roles in Texas, as these positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or information technology. Intracompany transferees moving into a managerial or executive role within a multinational employer may be eligible for the L-1A category.

Are there any Texas-specific considerations for director of projects visa sponsorship candidates?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how total compensation is structured relative to other states, though this does not change federal prevailing wage requirements that employers must meet when sponsoring H-1B holders. The state's concentration in energy, infrastructure, and defense means that many director of projects roles require experience in regulated industries. Some positions tied to federal contracts or national security projects may also carry citizenship or clearance requirements that preclude international sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of projects jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
