Which e-commerce companies in Texas sponsor F-1 OPT visas?
Several large e-commerce and retail-tech employers in Texas have a track record of hiring F-1 OPT workers, including Amazon (with fulfillment and corporate operations in Dallas and Austin), Dell Technologies, Samsung Austin, and Kendra Scott. Walmart's technology office in the Dallas area and various e-commerce startups across Austin's tech corridor also regularly bring on OPT candidates for qualifying specialty roles.
Which Texas cities have the most e-commerce F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads the state for e-commerce OPT hiring, driven by its dense concentration of tech companies and e-commerce startups. Dallas-Fort Worth is a close second, with strong activity in supply chain technology, retail-tech, and marketplace platforms. Houston has a smaller but growing e-commerce sector, particularly around logistics technology companies tied to the region's large distribution infrastructure.
What types of e-commerce roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship in Texas?
Roles that most commonly qualify are those directly related to a STEM or business degree field. In e-commerce, that includes software engineering, data analytics, digital marketing, product management, UX design, and supply chain analytics. Positions requiring a specific degree for entry, such as a computer science degree for a software development role, tend to be the clearest fit for OPT authorization under USCIS specialty occupation standards.
How do I find e-commerce F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students on F-1 OPT, filtering e-commerce jobs in Texas by sponsorship availability so you are not wading through listings that will not work for your visa status. You can search by city, role type, and industry to surface employers actively hiring OPT candidates in Texas's e-commerce and online marketplace sector, saving time during your limited OPT employment window.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for F-1 OPT sponsorship in e-commerce?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how compensation packages are structured, but does not change OPT eligibility rules. More relevant for e-commerce OPT candidates is that many Texas-based roles are tied to large distribution and fulfillment operations, where operational or warehouse management positions may not qualify as specialty occupations. Focusing on roles with a clear degree requirement in your specific field of study is important when evaluating whether a Texas e-commerce position supports valid OPT employment.
