Which consulting companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Texas?
Large global firms with significant Texas presences, including Deloitte, Accenture, PwC, KPMG, EY, and McKinsey, have filed LCAs for STEM OPT-eligible consulting roles in the state. Mid-size data and technology consultancies operating in Dallas, Austin, and Houston also appear in DOL disclosure data as active STEM OPT sponsors. Checking OFLC Wage Search by employer name and Texas work-site location helps verify which firms have active filings for consulting roles.
Which cities in Texas have the most consulting F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads in consulting STEM OPT volume, driven by a high concentration of corporate headquarters and professional services offices. Houston follows, particularly in energy sector consulting and technology advisory roles tied to oil-and-gas and petrochemical clients. Austin is a growing market for technology and strategy consulting firms supporting the city's expanding tech sector. San Antonio has a smaller but active consulting presence, especially in cybersecurity and government advisory services.
How do I find consulting F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters consulting job listings specifically by visa type, letting you surface Texas employers with verified F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship history rather than sifting through unfiltered postings. Because STEM OPT requires the employer to sign a formal training plan and be enrolled in E-Verify, focusing on firms with documented LCA activity in Texas consulting roles reduces the risk of pursuing positions where sponsorship is uncertain.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that qualify must align with an approved STEM CIP code, so data analytics consulting, technology consulting, management science, and quantitative strategy positions are the most common qualifying categories. Titles such as data analyst, technology consultant, analytics consultant, operations research analyst, and IT strategy associate regularly appear in Texas STEM OPT LCA filings. General management or client-facing roles without a STEM degree nexus are less likely to meet the CIP code requirement employers must certify.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT consulting sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects compensation benchmarking when employers set prevailing wages for consulting roles. Firms in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex often set work-site locations across multiple suburban cities, which can affect the specific prevailing wage an employer must certify on the LCA. Texas also has a high proportion of E-Verify-enrolled employers relative to other states, which is a baseline STEM OPT requirement, but students should still confirm enrollment with each prospective employer before accepting an offer.
