Which gaming & esports companies in Texas sponsor Green Cards?
Texas-based gaming and esports employers that have sponsored permanent residency include Rooster Teeth in Austin, Hi-Rez Studios operations in the Dallas area, and various esports event production companies. Larger publishers and platform companies with Texas offices, including divisions of Microsoft and Electronic Arts, have also filed PERM labor certifications for technical and creative roles in the state.
Which Texas cities have the most gaming & esports Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads Texas for gaming and esports Green Card sponsorship activity, driven by its established game development community and tech-sector employer base. Dallas follows closely, with strength in esports broadcasting, event production, and team operations. Houston has a smaller but growing presence, particularly in gaming content and streaming infrastructure roles tied to the city's broader media and tech employers.
What types of gaming & esports roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Texas?
Roles that most commonly qualify involve positions requiring a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. In gaming and esports, these typically include software engineers, game designers, technical artists, data analysts, broadcast engineers, and operations managers. Roles where the degree requirement is clearly tied to the job function are best positioned for the PERM labor certification process that precedes most employment-based Green Card filings.
How do I find gaming & esports Green Card sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can search for gaming and esports roles in Texas where employers have a documented history of Green Card sponsorship. Because PERM filings are public record through the DOL, Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified sponsorship activity, helping you focus your applications on companies that have already sponsored permanent residency for roles similar to yours.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in gaming & esports?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure compensation benchmarks against DOL prevailing wage requirements under PERM. Because PERM requires the offered wage to meet or exceed the prevailing wage for the role and location, Texas salaries are benchmarked against regional OFLC Wage Search data for specific metropolitan areas, Austin, Dallas, and Houston each carry different wage levels for the same gaming and esports job titles.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card gaming & esports jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
