INTRODUCTION
Kodiak Robotics, Inc. was founded in 2018 and has become a leader in autonomous ground transportation committed to a safer and more efficient future for all. The company has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) powered technology stack purpose-built for commercial trucking and the public sector. The company delivers freight daily for its customers across the southern United States using its autonomous technology. In 2024, Kodiak became the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer. Kodiak is also leveraging its commercial self-driving software to develop, test and deploy autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.
We are looking for experienced commercial drivers to join our Lancaster operations as Assisted Autonomy Drivers to help us deploy our autonomous technology. Our team is on the cutting edge of working with our partners to improve and integrate our technology in real world conditions. Assisted Autonomy allows a trained CDL driver to remotely control a self-driving truck in certain low-speed situations—like tight yards or complex drop-off areas—where a human touch is helpful. It blends remote support with onboard autonomy to create a solution that enables safety and flexibility. All Assisted Autonomy drivers must be experienced and fully licensed, and operate a remote assistance station with intuitive controls including a steering wheel, pedals and brakes to provide guidance to the Kodiak Driver.

- Comfortable working with computers, willing to be flexible with growing responsibilities over time, a growth mindset
- Passion for being a part of the future of transportation
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Safety Minded
- Willing and able to work flexible shifts & schedules including nights
- Requires frequent sitting and driving
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Work with an experienced and agile team to revolutionize transportation.

At Kodiak, we strive to build a diverse community working towards our common company goals in a safe and collaborative environment where harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited. Kodiak is committed to equal opportunity employment regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status, or any other basis protected by applicable law.
In alignment with its business operations, Kodiak adheres to all relevant statutes, regulations, and administrative prerequisites. Accordingly, roles that carry more sensitive requirements may be limited to candidates that can satisfy additional scrutiny and eligibility for such positions may hinge on verification of a candidate’s residence, U.S. person status, and/or citizenship status. Should the position require, and Kodiak determines that a candidate’s residence, U.S. person status, and/or citizenship status necessitate an export license, bar the candidate from the position, or otherwise fall under national security-related restrictions, Kodiak will consider the candidate for alternative positions unaffected by such restrictions, under terms and conditions set forth at Kodiak’s sole discretion, or, as an alternative, opt not to proceed with the candidate’s application. If applicable, Kodiak may provide visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.

Which science and research companies sponsor Green Card visas in Texas?
Major sponsors in Texas include MD Anderson Cancer Center, ExxonMobil, Texas Instruments, and Dell Technologies, alongside research-heavy universities such as UT Austin, Rice University, and Texas A&M. Federal facilities like NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston also employ researchers under sponsorship pathways. Biotech firms concentrated in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, are also active Green Card sponsors.
Which cities in Texas have the most science and research Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads due to the Texas Medical Center, NASA, and energy sector research operations. Austin follows closely, driven by semiconductor and tech-adjacent research employers. Dallas and its suburbs, particularly the Plano-Richardson corridor, concentrate roles in biotech, engineering research, and clinical sciences. San Antonio has a growing biomedical research presence through UT Health and military-affiliated research institutions.
What types of science and research roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Texas?
Roles with a direct requirement for a specific advanced degree field are the most common candidates. These include research scientists, biomedical engineers, computational biologists, materials scientists, geoscientists, and clinical research associates. Positions requiring a Ph.D. or specialized master's degree in a defined discipline are particularly well-suited for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship. Postdoctoral researchers at Texas universities are also frequently sponsored through these pathways.
How do I find science & research Green Card sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can search for Green Card-sponsored science and research roles in Texas directly without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. This is particularly useful in Texas, where sponsorship availability varies significantly across the energy, biotech, and academic sectors. Migrate Mate lets you narrow by industry and state to surface relevant openings efficiently.
Are there state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in science and research roles in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects total compensation calculations employers use when setting prevailing wage benchmarks for PERM labor certifications. Texas also hosts a high concentration of cap-exempt H-1B employers, such as universities and nonprofit research institutions, which can create a more accessible path to employment before Green Card sponsorship begins. The strength of the Texas Medical Center and energy research sectors means EB-1A and EB-2 NIW petitions are relatively common for researchers with published work or demonstrated national impact.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card science & research jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
