Which healthcare companies sponsor Green Card visas in Texas?
Several of Texas's largest hospital systems have established histories of sponsoring Green Cards for qualified healthcare workers. HCA Healthcare, Baylor Scott & White Health, Houston Methodist, UT Southwestern Medical Center, and Texas Children's Hospital are among the most active. Large academic medical centers and research hospitals tend to sponsor more frequently than smaller private practices, as they have dedicated HR and immigration compliance infrastructure.
Which cities in Texas have the most healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads the state, anchored by the Texas Medical Center, one of the largest medical complexes in the world, housing over 60 institutions. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, with major hospital networks and a concentration of specialty care facilities. San Antonio and Austin are growing markets, with steady demand in hospital systems, rehabilitation centers, and outpatient care. Smaller cities like Lubbock and El Paso also have sponsoring employers, particularly in underserved area facilities.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Texas?
Roles requiring specialized clinical training or licensure are most commonly sponsored. These include physicians across most specialties, registered nurses (particularly in critical care and surgical settings), physical and occupational therapists, clinical laboratory scientists, radiologic technologists, and medical researchers. Advanced practice providers such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants also see sponsorship, especially in rural or underserved Texas communities where filling positions is more difficult.
How do I find healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Texas, so you're not sifting through listings that don't fit your visa situation. Rather than applying broadly and discovering late in the process that an employer won't sponsor, you can focus your search on verified sponsoring employers from the start. Migrate Mate covers roles across hospital systems, outpatient settings, and research institutions throughout the state.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for healthcare Green Card sponsorship?
Texas does not have state income tax, which affects overall compensation comparisons with other states but doesn't change the federal Green Card process itself. Texas Medical Board licensure requirements apply to physicians regardless of immigration status and must be completed in parallel with any sponsorship timeline. For nurses, the Texas Board of Nursing requires credential evaluation for internationally trained applicants. Most healthcare Green Card sponsorships in Texas fall under the EB-2 category (for professionals with advanced degrees) or EB-3 category (for skilled workers and professionals). HPSA-designated shortage areas in rural Texas can also support EB-2 National Interest Waivers for qualifying clinicians.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card healthcare jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
