Which gaming and esports companies sponsor Green Card visas in New York?
Take-Two Interactive, headquartered in New York City, is one of the most active Green Card sponsors in the gaming industry. Other employers with New York presences that have sponsored permanent residence petitions include Zynga, Scopely, and various esports organizations with operational offices in Manhattan. Publishers and studios with large engineering or product teams tend to file the most EB-2 and EB-3 petitions.
Which cities in New York have the most gaming and esports Green Card sponsorship jobs?
New York City, specifically Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn, accounts for the overwhelming majority of gaming and esports Green Card sponsorship positions in the state. A smaller number of game development studios operate in Albany and Buffalo, but sponsorship activity outside NYC is limited. Most esports organization headquarters and major publisher offices are concentrated in Midtown and Lower Manhattan.
What types of gaming and esports roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in New York?
Software engineers, game designers, data scientists, and product managers are the roles most frequently sponsored for Green Cards in New York's gaming sector. Esports operations roles, broadcast production specialists, and technical artists have also appeared in PERM labor certification filings. Roles requiring a specific bachelor's degree in a related field are the strongest candidates for EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship pathways.
How do I find gaming and esports Green Card sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to browse Green Card sponsorship positions in New York's gaming and esports sector without sifting through unsponsored roles. You can narrow results to New York and the Gaming and Esports category to see which employers are actively hiring international candidates for permanent residence-track positions.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in gaming and esports?
New York City's prevailing wage levels are among the highest in the country, which directly affects the PERM labor certification process employers must complete before filing most employment-based Green Card petitions. Employers must advertise the role at wages meeting New York's prevailing wage standards, and the competitive local labor market means recruitment steps in the PERM process can take longer than in smaller metros. Candidates should confirm with their sponsoring employer which Green Card category applies to their role.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card gaming & esports jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
