Which companies in Texas sponsor visas for operations roles?
Large employers with established sponsorship track records in Texas include Amazon, ExxonMobil, Texas Instruments, Dell Technologies, and Chevron. Third-party logistics companies operating out of Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston also file regularly. Companies with dedicated HR and legal infrastructure are generally more consistent sponsors than smaller regional firms, since the H-1B visa petition process requires significant administrative capacity.
Which visa types are most common for operations roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for operations professionals in Texas, particularly for roles in supply chain management, process engineering, and business operations that require a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or engineering operations roles. The L-1B and L-1A categories apply when candidates transfer within a multinational company to a Texas office.
Which Texas cities have the most operations visa sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads in sheer volume, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, logistics networks, and distribution centers. Houston follows closely, particularly in energy operations and petrochemical supply chain roles. Austin has grown significantly in tech-adjacent operations positions tied to semiconductor and software companies. San Antonio contributes through manufacturing and military-adjacent operations work at companies like Toyota and Valero Energy.
How to find operations visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse operations roles in Texas without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. Search by city or metro area to focus on Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, or Austin clusters. Operations titles worth targeting include supply chain analyst, operations manager, process improvement specialist, and logistics coordinator, all of which appear regularly among Texas-based sponsors on the platform.
Are there state-specific factors that affect operations visa sponsorship in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations slightly compared to high-tax states, though federal DOL prevailing wage determinations still apply to H-1B petitions. Texas's energy sector creates operations roles that don't exist at the same scale elsewhere, particularly in upstream and downstream oil and gas. Several Texas universities including UT Austin and Texas A&M feed directly into operations and supply chain roles at major in-state employers, creating established hiring pipelines that sometimes include sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
