Which companies in Texas sponsor visas for sales roles?
Large technology and enterprise companies are the most consistent sponsors for sales roles in Texas. Dell Technologies (Round Rock), Oracle (Austin), and Salesforce maintain significant Texas sales operations and have established H-1B visa sponsorship track records. Beyond big tech, Houston's energy sector and Dallas's financial services firms also sponsor international sales professionals, particularly for enterprise and B2B-focused positions.
Which visa types are most common for sales professionals in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for sales roles in Texas, but only when the position qualifies as a specialty occupation, meaning it requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, or a technical discipline. Sales engineers and solutions consultants tend to qualify more readily than general account executives. The L-1B visa is another pathway for international professionals transferring within a multinational company into a U.S. sales role.
How to find sales visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find sales visa sponsorship jobs in Texas, with listings filtered specifically for roles where employers have a demonstrated history of sponsoring work visas. Rather than sorting through thousands of unfiltered postings, Migrate Mate surfaces Texas-based sales opportunities at companies actively open to international candidates, covering cities like Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.
Which cities in Texas have the most sales sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads for sponsored sales roles in Texas, concentrated in SaaS, cloud, and cybersecurity companies clustered along the Route 183 tech corridor. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, with strong demand in financial technology, telecom, and enterprise software. Houston is a significant market for industrial and energy sales roles. San Antonio has a growing cybersecurity sector tied to its military and federal contracting base, which also generates sponsored sales positions.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for international sales professionals seeking sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure compensation packages for sponsored sales roles, though this does not change federal visa requirements. Many Texas universities, including UT Austin and Texas A&M, produce large pools of international graduates on OPT who pursue sales careers locally, meaning employers in Austin and College Station are relatively familiar with the sponsorship process. Sales roles tied to defense or energy contracts may carry additional hiring restrictions for non-citizens.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
