Which companies sponsor visas for technical architects in Texas?
Large technology and enterprise employers in Texas with consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for technical architects include AT&T, Dell Technologies, IBM, Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, and Infosys. Defense contractors like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon also hire technical architects in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Healthcare systems such as HCA Healthcare and insurance firms in Dallas have also filed sponsorships for architecture-level roles.
Which visa types are most common for technical architect roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical architects in Texas, as the role typically meets the specialty occupation requirement given its degree prerequisites in computer science, engineering, or a related field. L-1A and L-1B visas are also used by multinational firms transferring architects from foreign offices. Candidates with extraordinary ability may qualify for an O-1 visa. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering and computer-related categories.
Which cities in Texas have the most technical architect sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads in volume, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, financial services firms, and telecom giants like AT&T. Austin is a strong second, with a dense cluster of tech companies and cloud-focused employers. Houston contributes sponsorship opportunities in energy technology, healthcare IT, and petrochemical infrastructure. San Antonio has a growing cybersecurity and government IT sector tied to military installations.
How to find technical architect visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters technical architect roles in Texas by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're not sorting through listings that won't lead anywhere. The platform aggregates positions from employers with active sponsorship histories, which matters for a senior role like technical architect where H-1B petitions involve meaningful employer commitment. Filtering by Texas gives you a targeted view across Dallas, Austin, and Houston markets.
Are there any state-specific considerations for technical architects seeking sponsorship in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations and compensation structuring that employers must document for H-1B Labor Condition Applications. The state's large university system, including UT Austin, Texas A&M, and UT Dallas, produces a steady pipeline of international graduates who pursue OPT and then seek H-1B sponsorship, making Texas employers generally familiar with the sponsorship process for technical roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical architect jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
