Which companies sponsor visas for clinical specialists in Utah?
Medical device and healthcare companies with established Utah operations are the most active sponsors. Becton Dickinson, Stryker, Medtronic, and Abbott have all filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for clinical specialist roles in Utah. Intermountain Health and University of Utah Health also sponsor international candidates, particularly for roles requiring specialized clinical or technical training that aligns with a relevant degree field.
Which visa types are most common for clinical specialist roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa for clinical specialists in Utah, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, such as biomedical engineering, nursing, or a life science. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying clinical roles. Candidates with exceptional research or publication records may also qualify for the O-1.
How to find clinical specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate lets you filter visa sponsorship jobs specifically for clinical specialist roles in Utah, showing only employers with a verified history of sponsoring international candidates. Rather than manually researching each company's sponsorship history, Migrate Mate surfaces relevant openings in Utah's medical device and healthcare sectors, including positions at companies in the Salt Lake City corridor where clinical specialist hiring is most concentrated.
Which cities in Utah have the most clinical specialist sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the majority of clinical specialist sponsorship activity in Utah, driven by the concentration of medical device companies and health systems along the Wasatch Front. Murray and West Valley City host several major healthcare and MedTech facilities. Provo and Orem also see clinical specialist openings tied to the life sciences cluster that has grown alongside the broader Utah County tech economy.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for clinical specialists pursuing visa sponsorship?
Utah's Department of Workforce Services publishes prevailing wage data that employers must reference when filing Labor Condition Applications for H-1B clinical specialist positions. The University of Utah's medical and engineering programs create a local pipeline of candidates, so international applicants benefit from emphasizing specialized clinical certifications or device-specific training that distinguishes them. Some clinical specialist roles in Utah require state-issued professional licenses, which should be confirmed with the employer before the sponsorship process begins.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical specialist jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
