Which companies sponsor visas for data managers in Utah?
Technology employers in Salt Lake City and Provo are among the most active sponsors for data manager roles. Adobe, Qualtrics, and Domo have established sponsorship track records, as does the University of Utah for data-related positions. Healthcare organizations like Intermountain Health also hire data managers and have sponsored H-1B visa workers. Sponsorship availability varies by team, headcount, and fiscal year, so confirming directly with each employer matters.
Which visa types are most common for data manager roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for data manager positions in Utah, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or statistics. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA. Those with extraordinary ability in data science or management may explore O-1A classification, though that standard is significantly higher.
Which cities in Utah have the most data manager sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City holds the largest share of data manager sponsorship jobs in Utah, driven by its concentration of technology companies, financial services firms, and large healthcare systems. Provo and Orem form a secondary hub anchored by companies like Qualtrics and numerous SaaS startups in the Silicon Slopes corridor. Ogden and St. George have smaller but growing tech footprints, though sponsorship opportunities there are less frequent than in the Wasatch Front.
How to find data manager visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters data manager roles in Utah by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving time that would otherwise go toward manually screening postings. Because data manager titles vary across organizations, searching variations like data operations manager or data governance manager on Migrate Mate can surface relevant roles that a narrow title search might miss. Checking postings regularly matters since sponsorship-eligible positions in Utah's tech market move quickly.
Are there state-specific considerations for data manager roles and visa sponsorship in Utah?
Utah's Silicon Slopes corridor has fueled strong demand for data management talent, which generally supports sponsorship willingness among established tech employers. The University of Utah and Brigham Young University produce a steady pipeline of domestic candidates, so international applicants benefit from highlighting specialized experience in areas like data governance, cloud platforms, or healthcare data compliance. H-1B petitions require employers to file a Labor Condition Application certifying that the offered wage meets the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the Salt Lake City or Provo metropolitan area.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data manager jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
