Which companies sponsor visas for data managers in Wisconsin?
Healthcare and insurance organizations are among the most active sponsors for data manager roles in Wisconsin. Employers such as Epic Systems, UW Health, Froedtert Health, Northwestern Mutual, and Fiserv have histories of sponsoring H-1B workers in data and information management functions. Large research universities, including the University of Wisconsin-Madison, also sponsor data professionals through academic and administrative roles.
Which visa types are most common for data manager roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for data manager positions in Wisconsin, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field such as information systems, computer science, or data science. Candidates already holding an F-1 with OPT or STEM OPT authorization can work while a sponsor files an H-1B petition on their behalf.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most data manager sponsorship jobs?
Madison and Milwaukee account for the largest share of data manager sponsorship activity in Wisconsin. Madison benefits from Epic Systems' headquarters and the University of Wisconsin research ecosystem. Milwaukee draws demand from financial services and healthcare employers. Green Bay and Appleton have a smaller but growing presence, particularly through regional healthcare networks and manufacturing firms with data infrastructure needs.
How to find data manager visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify data manager roles in Wisconsin where employers are willing to sponsor. Rather than sorting through thousands of unfiltered postings, you can focus on positions at organizations like Epic Systems, UW Health, or Fiserv that have demonstrated sponsorship histories. Setting up role and location filters on Migrate Mate helps track new openings as they appear.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for data managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Wisconsin's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are benchmarked to the Madison and Milwaukee metropolitan areas, which typically reflect different wage levels than national figures. The University of Wisconsin system creates a notable pipeline of international graduates in data-related fields who transition into sponsored roles locally. Healthcare data governance roles have grown significantly following Epic Systems' influence on regional health IT infrastructure, creating consistent demand for experienced data managers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data manager jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
