Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for data manager roles?
Kansas employers with a history of sponsoring skilled foreign workers for data-related positions include Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in the Kansas City metro, and Koch Industries-affiliated companies headquartered in Wichita. Large agricultural technology firms and regional healthcare systems have also filed Labor Condition Applications for data management roles. Sponsorship patterns vary by company size and hiring volume.
Which visa types are most common for data manager jobs in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for data manager positions in Kansas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates with a Canadian or Mexican citizenship may also be eligible for the TN visa under the USMCA. Some research-affiliated roles at institutions like the University of Kansas may involve J-1 or O-1 pathways.
Which cities in Kansas have the most data manager visa sponsorship jobs?
Wichita and the Kansas City metro area (including Overland Park and Lenexa on the Kansas side) account for the majority of data manager sponsorship activity in the state. Wichita's aviation and manufacturing base drives demand in operational data roles, while the Kansas City corridor concentrates healthcare IT and enterprise software employers. Lawrence, home to the University of Kansas, sees smaller but consistent demand tied to research and academic administration.
How to find data manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for data manager roles in Kansas without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can filter by state and role type to surface relevant openings in Wichita, Overland Park, and the broader Kansas City metro. Migrate Mate's listings are sourced from employers who have indicated sponsorship willingness, which saves significant time in the search process.
Are there state-specific considerations for data manager roles and visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not have state-level visa programs, so sponsorship follows federal H-1B and related processes. However, Kansas's prevailing wage determinations for data manager roles are set by the Department of Labor based on local wage surveys, and wages in Wichita and the Kansas City metro typically reflect the cost of living in those markets rather than coastal benchmarks. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications must meet the prevailing wage for the specific Kansas metro area where the role is based.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data manager jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
