Which finance companies in Utah sponsor H-1B visas?
Zions Bancorporation, headquartered in Salt Lake City, is among the most active H-1B visa sponsors in Utah's finance sector. Goldman Sachs has a significant Salt Lake City presence and files H-1B petitions for finance and technology roles. Regional banks, credit unions with large operations, and fintech companies in the Lehi corridor have also appeared in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data as sponsors.
Which cities in Utah have the most finance H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of finance H-1B sponsorship activity in Utah, driven by major bank headquarters and back-office operations. Lehi, part of the tech-heavy Utah County corridor sometimes called Silicon Slopes, has grown as a hub for fintech employers. Provo and Sandy also have notable financial services employers, though Salt Lake City remains the dominant market for sponsored finance roles.
What types of finance roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Utah?
Roles that consistently qualify as H-1B specialty occupations in finance include financial analysts, quantitative analysts, risk management specialists, compliance officers, credit analysts, and financial software engineers. These positions typically require at least a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, or a closely related field. General administrative or sales-oriented finance roles are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies.
How do I find finance H-1B sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type (H-1B), industry (Banking and Financial Services), and location (Utah) to see finance roles where employers have an active history of sponsoring foreign nationals. This saves significant time compared to reviewing general job postings that rarely disclose sponsorship availability upfront, and it focuses your applications on employers already familiar with the H-1B process.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in finance?
Utah's finance sector is notably shaped by its fintech growth, which means some sponsoring employers are younger companies less familiar with H-1B processes than large national banks. Smaller Utah-based employers may only sponsor for senior or highly specialized roles where local hiring falls short. Additionally, finance roles tied to federal contracts or certain regulated activities may involve additional employer compliance steps beyond standard H-1B requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B finance jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
