Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for product engineers?
Several established tech employers in Utah have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for product engineers, including Adobe, Qualtrics, Pluralsight, and Ancestry. Larger enterprise software and SaaS companies along the Wasatch Front file Labor Condition Applications regularly, making them more predictable sponsors than early-stage startups, which may lack the legal infrastructure to support H-1B or E-3 petitions.
Which visa types are most common for product engineer roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product engineers in Utah, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and a faster approval timeline. TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in certain qualifying engineering roles.
How to find product engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search product engineer roles in Utah without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. The platform surfaces postings from companies along the Wasatch Front tech corridor that have an active LCA or H-1B filing history, which is a reliable indicator of sponsorship willingness for product engineer candidates.
Which cities in Utah have the most product engineer sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and the Provo-Orem area account for the majority of sponsored product engineer positions in Utah. Provo in particular has a dense concentration of SaaS and enterprise software companies, partly driven by proximity to Brigham Young University. Lehi, situated between the two cities, has emerged as a secondary hub with notable employers like Adobe and Domo operating there.
Are there any Utah-specific factors product engineers should know before pursuing visa sponsorship?
Utah's tech sector leans heavily toward SaaS, edtech, and enterprise software, so product engineers with experience in those domains tend to find more sponsoring employers here than those focused on hardware or semiconductor roles. Brigham Young University and the University of Utah both generate local engineering talent pipelines, which means sponsored roles are often competitive. Confirming that a job posting explicitly supports visa sponsorship before applying saves significant time.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineer jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
