ABOUT THE AI PRODUCT ENGINEER ROLE
As an AI Product Engineer on the K.AIML team, you will build and scale AI-powered applications that support Keystone’s litigation, regulatory, investigative, and strategic advisory work.
This is a full-stack engineering role focused on productization. You will take proof-of-concepts developed by Forward Deployed AI Engineers and transform them into secure, scalable, production-grade products. You’ll own architecture decisions, build robust backend and frontend systems, manage releases, and ensure the reliability and maintainability of AI tools deployed across the firm and to select clients.
AI Product Engineers at Keystone operate like startup engineers inside a consulting firm: moving quickly from prototype to launch while maintaining production standards appropriate for high-stakes use cases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the end-to-end productization of AI tools, translating POCs into secure, scalable, production-ready systems
- Design and implement full-stack architectures, including frontend interfaces, backend services, data pipelines, and model integrations in collaboration with Keystone’s data engineering team
- Own application reliability, performance, and maintainability across beta releases and production environments
- Collaborate closely with Forward Deployed AI Engineers to refine requirements and prioritize features based on real-world usage
- Manage product releases, including beta programs, user testing, feature iteration, and launch readiness
- Build new features in alignment with evolving product roadmaps and practice priorities
- Intake, diagnose, and resolve user-reported issues and bugs; implement monitoring and logging to proactively surface problems
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to roadmap planning, effort estimation, and resource forecasting
- Continuously evaluate improvements to architecture, model integration patterns, and system design to enhance performance and scalability
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Advanced degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- 6–10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience building and maintaining production systems
- Strong full-stack development experience (e.g., Python backend frameworks, modern frontend frameworks, APIs, and database design)
- Experience integrating AI/ML systems or large language models into production applications
- Demonstrated ownership of systems from design through deployment and long-term maintenance
- Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where requirements evolve quickly
- Ability to collaborate closely with non-engineering stakeholders and translate product needs into technical design decisions
COMPENSATION
- Annual Salary Range: $104,470—$147,037 USD
In addition to annual salary, we provide annual 401k contributions and competitive benefits package. Actual Compensation within the range will depend upon the level the individual is hired into based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.

Which companies sponsor visas for product engineers in Massachusetts?
Several large employers in Massachusetts have consistent track records of sponsoring visas for product engineers. These include Amazon (with significant operations in Boston), Wayfair, HubSpot, MathWorks, Raytheon Technologies, and biotech firms like Biogen and Moderna. Massachusetts-based startups in the Route 128 and Kendall Square corridors also sponsor, though less predictably than established enterprises.
Which visa types are most common for product engineers in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product engineers in Massachusetts, as these roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Some employers also use the L-1B for intracompany transfers. Candidates with a relevant master's degree from a U.S. university may benefit from the advanced degree exemption during H-1B selection.
How to find product engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, making it easier to identify Massachusetts employers actively hiring product engineers on H-1B or other work visas. Rather than sorting through general postings, you can search directly for product engineer roles in Massachusetts where sponsorship is confirmed, saving significant time during a job search that may be constrained by visa timelines.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most product engineer sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the majority of product engineer sponsorship opportunities in Massachusetts, driven by the concentration of tech companies, research institutions, and startups around Kendall Square and the Seaport District. Waltham and Burlington along the Route 128 corridor are also notable clusters, particularly for hardware and defense-adjacent product engineering roles at companies like Raytheon and MathWorks.
Are there state-specific factors product engineers should know about when seeking sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has a dense university pipeline, with MIT, Boston University, Northeastern, and Tufts producing large numbers of engineering graduates, which means employer familiarity with OPT and H-1B processes is generally high. The state's biotech and medtech sectors add demand for product engineers with cross-functional skills. Prevailing wage determinations for Massachusetts product engineer roles reflect the high cost of the Greater Boston market, so employer LCA filings typically reflect competitive compensation levels.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineer jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
