Which companies sponsor visas for insurance collectors in Vermont?
National Life Group, headquartered in Montpelier, is Vermont's largest insurance employer and has a history of sponsoring skilled foreign workers. Union Mutual and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont are also notable employers in the state. Sponsorship decisions are made case by case, and not every open role comes with a sponsorship offer, so confirming this directly with the employer during the hiring process is important.
Which visa types are most common for insurance collector roles in Vermont?
The H-1B is the most common visa for insurance collector roles when the position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as finance, accounting, or business administration. Candidates with a qualifying degree may also explore the O-1 if they have demonstrated distinction in the field. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose roles fall under eligible professional categories under the USMCA.
Which cities in Vermont have the most insurance collector sponsorship jobs?
Burlington and Montpelier account for the majority of insurance employment in Vermont. Montpelier, as the state capital and home to National Life Group, is the most concentrated hub for insurance sector roles. Burlington, Vermont's largest city, also hosts regional offices of national carriers. Outside these two cities, insurance collector positions with sponsorship potential are relatively uncommon given Vermont's small overall employer base.
How to find insurance collector visa sponsorship jobs in Vermont?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify insurance collector roles in Vermont where employers are open to sponsoring foreign workers. Because Vermont has a smaller insurance market than states like New York or Massachusetts, setting up alerts and checking regularly on Migrate Mate gives you an advantage when new sponsored positions are posted by Vermont-based carriers or regional offices.
Are there state-specific considerations for insurance collector roles in Vermont?
Vermont's insurance market is relatively small and concentrated, which means fewer total sponsorship opportunities than in larger states. Employers sponsoring H-1B workers for insurance collector roles must pay the prevailing wage as determined by the Department of Labor for the Burlington or Montpelier area. Vermont does not have a large university pipeline feeding directly into insurance collector roles, so most sponsored candidates come with prior industry experience from outside the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored insurance collector jobs in Vermont?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
