Which technology companies sponsor H-1B1 Singapore visas in Virginia?
Northern Virginia's federal contracting sector produces some of the highest H-1B1 Singapore LCA filing volumes in the country. Employers such as Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, SAIC, and General Dynamics IT regularly file for technology roles. Large commercial employers including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, and Capital One also have a significant presence in the state and have sponsored H-1B1 Singapore workers in software and infrastructure roles.
Which cities in Virginia have the most technology H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs?
Northern Virginia cities dominate, with Tysons, Reston, Herndon, and Arlington accounting for the majority of technology sponsorship activity. McLean and Chantilly are also notable, largely due to defense and intelligence contractor headquarters. Richmond has a growing technology sector with financial services employers. The Washington, D.C. metro proximity means many Virginia-based roles can also access D.C. and Maryland employers within commuting distance.
How do I find technology H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs in Virginia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type, so you can search for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship roles in Virginia's technology sector without sorting through positions that don't apply to you. Because Migrate Mate surfaces employer LCA filing history, you can see which Virginia technology companies have an established record of H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship before you apply, which helps you focus your time on realistic opportunities.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship?
Roles that qualify must meet the H-1B1 visa specialty occupation standard, meaning they generally require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Virginia's technology sector, qualifying positions commonly include software engineer, systems architect, cybersecurity analyst, cloud infrastructure engineer, data engineer, and IT project manager. Roles tied to federal contracts often have additional clearance requirements, but the visa category itself covers the same specialty occupation criteria as standard H-1B visa roles.
Are there Virginia-specific considerations for H-1B1 Singapore technology sponsorship?
Virginia employers with federal contracts may require security clearances, which adds a separate background investigation process independent of the H-1B1 visa itself. Because many Northern Virginia technology employers work on sensitive government programs, sponsorship decisions can also be influenced by contract timelines and funding cycles. Additionally, Virginia has no state-level visa sponsorship program, so all requirements flow directly from federal H-1B1 rules administered by USCIS and the DOL.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Singapore technology jobs in Virginia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
