Which companies sponsor visas for Director of Projects roles in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing, Starbucks, and Expedia are among the Washington employers with established visa sponsorship programs for senior project leadership roles. Large consulting firms such as Accenture and Deloitte also maintain significant Washington offices and regularly sponsor H-1B petitions for Directors of Projects. Sponsorship is more common at enterprise-scale employers than at smaller regional firms.
Which visa types are most common for Director of Projects roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for Director of Projects positions in Washington, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or information technology. L-1A visas are an option for candidates transferring within a multinational company into a managerial capacity. O-1 visas may apply for candidates with documented extraordinary achievement in project management or a related discipline.
Which cities in Washington have the most Director of Projects sponsorship jobs?
Seattle concentrates the largest share of sponsored Director of Projects openings in Washington, driven by its tech, aerospace, and corporate headquarters density. Bellevue and Redmond are strong secondary markets, largely due to Microsoft's campus presence and the broader Eastside tech corridor. Tacoma and Olympia see more limited sponsorship activity, primarily through government contractors and healthcare organizations.
How to find director of projects visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for international candidates searching for visa sponsorship roles, including Director of Projects positions in Washington. You can filter by state and job title to surface employers in Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond that have a documented history of sponsoring work visas. Focusing your search on companies with prior H-1B filings in project leadership significantly improves your chances of finding a receptive employer.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for Director of Projects visa sponsorship?
Washington's concentration of large tech and aerospace employers means prevailing wage requirements for Director of Projects roles tend to reflect a competitive regional market, which employers must meet when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application. The University of Washington also supplies a steady pipeline of project management and engineering talent, meaning employers in the region are generally familiar with the sponsorship process. Boeing's Puget Sound operations make aerospace project leadership a particularly active sponsorship category in the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of projects jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
