Which companies sponsor visas for product support engineers in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, Salesforce, Google, and Tableau are among the most active sponsors for product support engineer roles in Washington. Smaller enterprise software companies in the Seattle and Bellevue corridor, including Smartsheet and Outreach, also sponsor H-1B workers for technical support positions. DOL LCA disclosure data consistently shows Washington-based tech employers filing for product support and technical support engineer roles.
Which visa types are most common for product support engineer roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product support engineers in Washington, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. L-1B visas are also used when engineers transfer from an overseas office of the same company. Australians may pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is available year-round.
Which cities in Washington have the most product support engineer sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Bellevue account for the large majority of product support engineer sponsorship opportunities in Washington, driven by the headquarters and major offices of Microsoft, Amazon, and Salesforce in the Puget Sound corridor. Redmond is another concentration point, particularly for Microsoft roles. Smaller clusters exist in Kirkland and Bothell, where mid-size SaaS and cloud infrastructure companies have established engineering teams.
How to find product support engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search for product support engineer roles in Washington without sifting through listings that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by state and role type to surface relevant openings at Seattle and Bellevue employers. Migrate Mate's job board is built specifically for international candidates, so every listing is screened for sponsorship eligibility.
Are there state-specific considerations for product support engineers seeking sponsorship in Washington?
Washington's lack of a state income tax is a practical consideration when comparing offers across states, though it does not affect visa eligibility. Prevailing wage requirements for H-1B product support engineer roles in the Seattle metropolitan area are set by the Department of Labor and reflect the region's high cost of living, meaning employers must meet a competitive wage floor. The University of Washington also feeds a significant pipeline of international graduates into local technical support and engineering roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product support engineer jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
