Search Compliance Jobs in WisconsinCompliance Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for compliance roles in Wisconsin?
Northwestern Mutual, Fiserv, and Advocate Aurora Health are among Wisconsin's most active sponsors for compliance positions, particularly in financial and healthcare regulatory functions. American Family Insurance and Baird also hire for compliance roles in Milwaukee. Larger multinationals with Wisconsin operations tend to have established immigration programs, making them more likely to sponsor than smaller regional firms.
Which visa types are most common for compliance roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for compliance professionals in Wisconsin, as roles like compliance analyst, regulatory affairs specialist, and financial compliance officer typically require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding an L-1 or O-1 may also find compliance roles in Wisconsin, and those on OPT or STEM OPT can gain entry-level compliance experience while seeking H-1B sponsorship.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most compliance sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary hub for compliance sponsorship, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and healthcare employers. Madison generates meaningful demand through its university system, state agency compliance functions, and a growing fintech sector. Green Bay sees some compliance hiring in healthcare and manufacturing, though sponsorship opportunities outside Milwaukee and Madison are noticeably less frequent.
How to find compliance visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search compliance roles in Wisconsin without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by location and role type to focus on Milwaukee and Madison employers. Given that compliance is a specialty occupation category, Migrate Mate's curated listings help international candidates identify employers actively engaged in H-1B and other work visa filings.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for international compliance candidates?
Wisconsin's compliance hiring is heavily shaped by its insurance and financial services industries, which are regulated at both state and federal levels, so candidates with backgrounds in financial regulation, healthcare compliance, or risk management are well-positioned. The University of Wisconsin system produces a strong domestic pipeline, meaning international candidates benefit from emphasizing specialized regulatory knowledge or multilingual capabilities. Prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply statewide regardless of employer size.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored compliance jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
