Which companies in Wisconsin sponsor visas for customer support engineers?
Fiserv in Milwaukee, Epic Systems in Verona, and Roper Technologies have filed H-1B petitions for technical support roles in Wisconsin. Larger enterprise software and financial technology firms are the most consistent sponsors, as they have established immigration infrastructure. Smaller Wisconsin tech firms do sponsor, but less frequently, and typically work with outside immigration counsel on a case-by-case basis.
Which visa types are most common for customer support engineer roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for customer support engineers in Wisconsin, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as computer science or information systems. The L-1B intracompany transfer visa is also used when candidates are moving from an overseas office of the same employer. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineer classifications.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most customer support engineer sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the primary hub, driven by its concentration of financial technology and enterprise software companies, including Fiserv's headquarters. Madison is a strong second, anchored by Epic Systems and a University of Wisconsin graduate pipeline that feeds technical roles across the region. Green Bay and Appleton have a smaller but active base of manufacturing technology firms that occasionally sponsor support engineer positions.
How to find customer support engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship, so you can focus on customer support engineer openings in Wisconsin without sorting through companies that won't sponsor. The platform covers Milwaukee, Madison, and other Wisconsin markets. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate surfaces relevant openings faster than unfiltered job searches.
Are there any state-specific considerations for customer support engineers seeking sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's technology sector is concentrated around Epic Systems' presence in Verona, which has influenced a broader support engineering talent market in the Madison area. Employers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements when filing H-1B petitions, and those wages are benchmarked to the specific metro area, so Milwaukee and Madison have different prevailing wage levels. The University of Wisconsin-Madison also produces a consistent pipeline of international graduates who enter this hiring market on OPT before seeking H-1B sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored customer support engineer jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
