Which companies sponsor visas for events roles in Wisconsin?
In Wisconsin, visa sponsorship for events roles has come from large venue operators, hospitality groups, and convention management organizations. The Wisconsin Center District, which oversees the Wisconsin Center and UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena in Milwaukee, is one of the more active employers. Large hotel chains managing convention business in Milwaukee and Madison, along with sports and entertainment operators tied to Fiserv Forum and American Family Field, have also sponsored specialized event production and management roles.
Which visa types are most common for events roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for events roles that require a relevant bachelor's degree, such as event management, hospitality management, or marketing. The O-1A is an option for candidates with an established record of achievement in event production or entertainment. The TN visa covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. Contract or touring entertainment professionals sometimes enter on P-1 or P-2 visas, though those categories are tied to specific performances rather than ongoing employment.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most events sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the clear center for events sponsorship activity in Wisconsin, with its concentration of major venues, convention facilities, and professional sports franchises. Madison supports a secondary market driven by university events at UW-Madison, the Alliant Energy Center, and a growing hospitality sector around the Capitol district. Green Bay generates some demand tied to Lambeau Field and Resch Center operations, though at a smaller scale than Milwaukee or Madison.
How to find events visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States, including events roles in Wisconsin. You can filter by state and job category to surface employers who have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for positions in event coordination, production, and hospitality management. Searching through Migrate Mate helps you focus your time on employers already open to international candidates rather than applying broadly with no information on sponsorship likelihood.
Are there any state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for events jobs in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin does not impose additional state-level visa requirements, but prevailing wage rules under the H-1B program still apply based on the specific metropolitan area where the job is located. Milwaukee and Madison each have their own prevailing wage determinations from the Department of Labor, and employers must certify compliance through a Labor Condition Application before sponsoring. UW-Madison and Marquette University also generate a pipeline of hospitality and event management graduates who sometimes transition into sponsored roles after gaining OPT work authorization.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored events jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
