Which companies sponsor visas for financial analysts in Wisconsin?
Milwaukee-based employers are the most active sponsors for financial analyst roles in Wisconsin. Northwestern Mutual, Fiserv, Johnson Controls, and Baird have each filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for financial analyst positions in recent OFLC disclosure data. Madison employers including American Family Insurance and Epic Systems also appear in sponsorship records, particularly for roles blending financial analysis with data or healthcare operations.
Which visa types are most common for financial analyst roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for financial analyst roles in Wisconsin, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT through Wisconsin universities sometimes transition directly into H-1B sponsorship with their employer. The O-1A is an option for analysts with exceptional credentials, though it is far less common.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most financial analyst sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary hub for financial analyst sponsorship, driven by its concentration of insurance carriers, financial services firms, and publicly traded manufacturers. Madison is the second-strongest market, supported by healthcare finance, state government contractors, and a growing technology sector. Green Bay and Appleton see occasional openings, primarily through regional banks and manufacturing companies, but sponsorship activity there is notably lower than in Milwaukee and Madison.
How to find financial analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters financial analyst roles in Wisconsin by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you from manually screening hundreds of postings. Because Milwaukee and Madison employers vary significantly in their willingness to sponsor, using Migrate Mate to focus on verified sponsoring companies, particularly in insurance, fintech, and healthcare finance, is the most direct way to identify realistic opportunities in the state.
Are there state-specific factors that affect financial analyst visa sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin does not impose state-level visa requirements, but the prevailing wage rules under the H-1B program apply locally and are benchmarked to Milwaukee or Madison metropolitan wage data depending on the work location. Employers must certify they are paying at least the prevailing wage for the role and geography. The University of Wisconsin-Madison and Marquette University both produce finance graduates who enter OPT, creating a local pipeline that some Wisconsin employers are already familiar with sponsoring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored financial analyst jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
