Which companies sponsor visas for human resources assistants in Wisconsin?
Healthcare systems and large manufacturers are the most consistent sponsors in Wisconsin. Advocate Aurora Health, Froedtert Health, UW Health, and Epic Systems have all filed visa sponsorships for HR-related roles. American Family Insurance and Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee also sponsor international workers in HR support functions. Multinational manufacturers with Wisconsin operations, including Rockwell Automation and Johnson Controls, occasionally sponsor HR assistants within larger HR teams.
Which visa types are most common for human resources assistant roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for human resources assistant positions in Wisconsin, provided the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field. Some positions at universities or affiliated research institutions may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B filings. International candidates from Australia may explore the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category for relevant business occupations.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most human resources assistant sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary hub for HR assistant sponsorship, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, financial services firms, and corporate headquarters. Madison follows closely, supported by the University of Wisconsin system, Epic Systems, and a growing technology sector. Green Bay and Appleton also offer opportunities within manufacturing, insurance, and regional healthcare networks, though sponsorship activity in those markets is less frequent than in the two largest metros.
How to find human resources assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find human resources assistant roles in Wisconsin that come with visa sponsorship. The platform filters specifically for sponsoring employers, so you're not sifting through listings that won't support international candidates. Focus your search on Milwaukee and Madison, and prioritize healthcare systems and large insurers, which have the strongest sponsorship track records for HR support roles in the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for human resources assistants seeking sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's HR assistant sponsorship activity is closely tied to its dominant industries: healthcare, insurance, and manufacturing. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay prevailing wages as determined by the Department of Labor for the specific metropolitan area, so wage levels differ between Milwaukee, Madison, and smaller markets. The University of Wisconsin system and Marquette University also generate a pipeline of international graduates who often pursue HR roles locally, meaning competition for sponsored positions can be meaningful in Madison and Milwaukee.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored human resources assistant jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
