Which companies sponsor visas for project executives in Wisconsin?
Large general contractors and construction management firms are the most active sponsors for project executive roles in Wisconsin. Companies like The Boldt Company, based in Appleton, and Michels Corporation in Brownsville have established HR infrastructure capable of supporting H-1B visa and other work visa petitions. Healthcare systems such as Advocate Aurora Health and major developers operating in the Milwaukee metro also appear in federal LCA disclosure data for senior project leadership positions.
Which visa types are most common for project executive roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project executives in Wisconsin, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as civil engineering, construction management, or architecture. Candidates with extraordinary ability in project leadership may explore the O-1A. Those transferring within a multinational firm to a Wisconsin office may qualify for the L-1A, which applies to managers and executives.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most project executive sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the primary hub for project executive sponsorship activity in Wisconsin, driven by its large construction, infrastructure, and commercial real estate sectors. Madison follows, with demand tied to university expansion projects at UW-Madison, state government contracts, and a growing healthcare construction pipeline. Green Bay and Appleton also generate project executive openings, particularly from regional general contractors headquartered in the Fox Valley corridor.
How to find project executive visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to browse project executive openings in Wisconsin without sorting through roles that won't support international candidates. You can narrow results by state and job title to surface positions at Wisconsin-based contractors, developers, and healthcare systems that have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for senior project leadership roles.
Are there state-specific considerations for project executives pursuing sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin project executive roles often require familiarity with local licensing requirements and Department of Transportation contracting standards, which employers may cite as part of the specialty occupation justification in an H-1B petition. The state's university system, particularly UW-Madison and Milwaukee School of Engineering, supplies a talent pipeline that shapes employer expectations around credentials. Prevailing wage determinations for Wisconsin metro areas are set by the Department of Labor and vary between Milwaukee, Madison, and smaller markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project executive jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
