Which companies sponsor visas for solution engineers in Wisconsin?
Fiserv in Milwaukee is one of the more active H-1B sponsors for technical roles in Wisconsin, along with Northwestern Mutual and Kforce. In Madison, Epic Systems and Exact Sciences have sponsored solution engineer and adjacent technical positions. Consulting firms with Wisconsin offices, including Accenture and Cognizant, also file H-1B petitions for solution engineer roles in the state.
Which visa types are most common for solution engineer roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for solution engineers in Wisconsin. The role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires applied knowledge in software architecture, APIs, or enterprise systems, typically backed by a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may also be eligible for TN status, which does not require a lottery and can be obtained at the border.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most solution engineer sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee and Madison account for the majority of solution engineer sponsorship activity in Wisconsin. Milwaukee is home to financial technology and insurance employers with established H-1B hiring programs, while Madison benefits from proximity to Epic Systems and UW-affiliated tech spin-offs. Green Bay and Appleton see occasional openings in manufacturing and logistics software, though sponsorship volume there is considerably lower.
How to find solution engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse solution engineer roles in Wisconsin without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. Because solution engineers are sometimes listed under titles like pre-sales engineer or technical account manager, Migrate Mate's search helps surface those variations. Filtering by Wisconsin state gives you a focused view of employers actively sponsoring in this market.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific factors that affect solution engineer visa sponsorship?
Wisconsin does not have state-level immigration requirements beyond federal rules, but the prevailing wage level for solution engineers in Milwaukee and Madison differs from national averages and directly affects what employers must pay H-1B workers. Employers file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor certifying they meet that wage threshold before sponsoring. UW-Madison's OPT pipeline also means some Wisconsin employers are familiar with sponsoring international candidates through F-1 to H-1B transitions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solution engineer jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
