Which companies sponsor visas for technical architects in Wisconsin?
Milwaukee-based firms like Fiserv, Northwestern Mutual, and Harley-Davidson have established sponsorship programs for senior technology roles, including technical architects. In Madison, Epic Systems is one of the state's most active sponsors for technology positions. ManpowerGroup and Rockwell Automation also appear in federal LCA disclosure data with technical architect filings in Wisconsin.
Which visa types are most common for technical architect roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for technical architect positions in Wisconsin, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related engineering field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already authorized under L-1A, O-1B, or TN visa status may also find employers willing to support those categories depending on their background and the employer's prior experience with each visa type.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most technical architect sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee generates the largest share of technical architect sponsorship activity in Wisconsin, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and manufacturing technology firms. Madison is a close second, anchored by Epic Systems and a growing cluster of health IT companies near the university corridor. Green Bay and Waukesha see smaller but consistent demand from regional healthcare networks and industrial technology employers.
How to find technical architect visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search technical architect roles in Wisconsin without sorting through positions that won't support work authorization. The platform surfaces employers with active sponsorship history in the state, which is particularly useful for targeting companies in Milwaukee's fintech sector and Madison's health IT corridor where demand for architects is strongest.
Are there any state-specific considerations for technical architects pursuing sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications for technical architects must attest to paying the prevailing wage for the role and location, which the Department of Labor determines by metropolitan area. Milwaukee and Madison are separate wage determination zones, so the same title can carry different prevailing wage obligations depending on the worksite. Wisconsin also has a strong university pipeline through UW-Madison, which some employers actively recruit from for OPT-to-H-1B conversion into architect tracks.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical architect jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
