Which companies sponsor visas for physicians in Wyoming?
The primary sponsors for physician roles in Wyoming are hospital systems and health networks operating in the state, including Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, and Banner Health facilities. Federally Qualified Health Centers and rural critical access hospitals also sponsor physicians, and these organizations frequently work with immigration counsel to process H-1B visa and J-1 visa waiver sponsorships for international medical graduates.
Which visa types are most common for physician roles in Wyoming?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for physicians in Wyoming, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring an advanced medical degree. J-1 Conrad 30 waivers are also widely used, allowing international medical graduates who completed residency on a J-1 visa to convert to H-1B status by committing to practice in a medically underserved area, which much of Wyoming qualifies as.
Which cities in Wyoming have the most physician sponsorship jobs?
Casper and Cheyenne hold the highest concentration of physician sponsorship opportunities in Wyoming, anchored by Wyoming Medical Center and Cheyenne Regional Medical Center respectively. Gillette and Laramie also have active hiring pipelines through Campbell County Health and university-affiliated clinics. Rural and frontier communities across the state frequently recruit through sponsored pathways given persistent physician shortages.
How to find physician visa sponsorship jobs in Wyoming?
Migrate Mate filters physician job listings specifically to employers who sponsor visas, letting you search by state and role without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. For Wyoming, this means surfacing openings at hospital systems, rural health networks, and FQHCs that have active sponsorship capacity. Searching Migrate Mate by the physician category and Wyoming location is the most direct way to identify relevant opportunities.
Are there state-specific considerations for physician visa sponsorship in Wyoming?
Wyoming's large proportion of medically underserved and Health Professional Shortage Areas makes it particularly relevant for J-1 Conrad 30 waiver applicants, who must commit to practicing in such areas for at least three years. The state's small population also means many physician roles are at critical access hospitals, which operate under specific Medicare reimbursement rules and tend to have strong incentives to sponsor international medical graduates to fill persistent vacancies.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physician jobs in Wyoming?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
