Target agencies with global accounts
Large advertising agencies managing multinational brands are more familiar with visa sponsorship processes and have dedicated HR teams experienced in handling international hiring requirements.
Emphasize client management experience
Highlight specific examples of managing client relationships, campaign coordination, and cross-functional team leadership to demonstrate the specialized skills that justify H-1B sponsorship requirements.
Consider digital-focused agencies first
Digital marketing agencies and programmatic advertising companies often have higher visa approval rates due to their tech-adjacent nature and demonstrated need for specialized digital marketing expertise.
Document your campaign results
Prepare quantifiable examples of successful campaigns, client retention rates, and revenue growth you've driven to strengthen your case for specialty occupation classification during petition filing.
Network through industry associations
Join organizations like 4A's or ANA to connect with agency executives who understand the value international talent brings to global campaign management and client relationships.
Apply during Q1 planning cycles
Agencies typically finalize their annual hiring budgets and team structures in January-February, making this the optimal time for visa sponsorship discussions and H-1B petition planning.

Find Account Supervisor JobsFrequently Asked Questions
What degree do I need for H-1B sponsorship as an account supervisor?
A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or advertising is typically required. Some agencies also accept degrees in psychology or journalism if combined with relevant agency experience. The degree field should relate directly to client management and campaign strategy functions.
Do account supervisor roles qualify for H-1B specialty occupation requirements?
Yes, when the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field and involves complex client relationship management, strategic planning, and campaign oversight. The employer must demonstrate that the role requires specialized knowledge beyond what a high school graduate could perform.
Which visa category works best for senior account management positions?
H-1B is most common for account supervisors, but senior-level positions managing major global accounts may qualify for O-1 visas if you have extraordinary achievements like industry awards, speaking engagements, or recognition for campaign innovation. L-1 works for internal agency transfers.
How do agencies typically structure H-1B petitions for account roles?
Agencies emphasize the specialized nature of client relationship management, strategic campaign development, and cross-cultural communication skills. They document specific client requirements, campaign complexity, and the need for degree-level knowledge in marketing principles and consumer behavior analysis.
How to find Account Supervisor jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Account Supervisor jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international candidates with sponsoring employers. Focus your search on advertising agencies, marketing firms, and multinational corporations that commonly sponsor H-1B, O-1, or other work visas for marketing professionals. These companies often have established visa sponsorship programs for account management roles.
Can I change agencies while on an H-1B as an account supervisor?
Yes, but your new employer must file a new H-1B petition before you start work. You can begin working once the new petition is filed if your current status is valid. Account supervisors often move between agencies, and this job mobility is well-understood in the industry.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Account Supervisor jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
