FinTech – AI Finance – Front-end Software Engineer - Senior
EY.AI Finance sits at the intersection of finance transformation, enterprise consulting, and product engineering. We're building a generative AI application purpose-built for Financial Planning & Analysis — think variance analysis in minutes instead of weeks, predictive forecasting grounded in rigorous ML, and scenario planning powered by a custom multi-agent architecture.
The opportunity
This isn't a typical consulting engagement. We're building a centrally managed software asset designed to scale across sectors and clients. You'd be joining a small, high-velocity product team responsible for the full UI surface of that product — from interactive analytics and chat-driven workflows to config-driven dashboards built for both CFOs and FP&A analysts.
In this role, you will interact with business stakeholders to evaluate business models, processes, and operations. You will gather, understand, and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical specifications. Your expertise in specific technology platforms will be crucial in providing in-depth analysis related to implementation, customization, and optimization.
Your key responsibilities
We're looking for a front-end software engineer to take ownership of the user interfaces for our AI-powered finance application. You'll play a key role in translating design into modern, performant interfaces, shaping the user experience, and helping establish the front-end architecture as we scale from proof-of-concept to production SaaS.
As a Senior Platform Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You will spend your time engaging with clients, analyzing their requirements, and collaborating with technical teams to design and deliver effective system architecture solutions. This role presents exciting challenges and opportunities for growth, as you will help clients maximize their investment in technology platforms through effective use and continuous improvement. Regular travel may be required to meet with clients and participate in project activities.
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive UIs using React / Next.js and TypeScript
- Translate product and UX designs (Figma) into clean, functional, and scalable interfaces aligned with EY brand standards
- Build and refine interactive components — including chat interfaces, data visualizations, and configuration-driven views
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers, data scientists, and product leadership to deliver cohesive features end-to-end
- Contribute to component libraries, internal documentation, and knowledge transfer across distributed teams
- Engage with business stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements
- Collaborate with technical teams to design and deliver system architecture solutions
- Tailor technology platforms to align with business processes and objectives
Skills and attributes for success
To thrive in this role, you will need a blend of technical and interpersonal skills. Your ability to build relationships and communicate effectively will be key to your success. Additionally, your analytical mindset will enable you to solve complex problems and drive outcomes.
- Strong understanding of technology platform methodologies and system configuration design
- Proficiency in technology business architecture frameworks and requirements definition
- Experience in conducting technology cost-benefit analysis and delivering training
- Ability to manage client relationships and communicate with impact
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree)
- 3–5 years of professional frontend development experience
- Proficiency in React / Next.js and TypeScript
- Solid experience with Tailwind CSS
- Strong understanding of frontend performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design
- Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and working alongside backend services
- Ability to work independently and own feature development from design handoff to deployment
- Demonstrated portfolio or code samples showing polished, production-quality UI work
- Strong technical skills in application functional design and platform methodologies
- Expertise in system configuration design and technology business architecture frameworks
- Proficiency in defining and analyzing technology business requirements
- Experience in conducting technology cost-benefit analyses and delivering training
- Exceptional relationship-building skills to foster trust with clients and colleagues
- Strong digital fluency and emotional agility in a fast-paced environment
- Proven problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience building custom chat interfaces or highly interactive, stateful web applications
- Exposure to data visualization libraries (e.g., Chart.js, D3.js, Recharts)
- Familiarity with Azure Web Apps and/or Python-based backend environments
- Interest in finance, FP&A workflows, or enterprise SaaS — domain experience is a plus, not a requirement
- Experience with agile methodologies and project management
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques
- Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in technology implementation
What we look for
We seek individuals who are not only skilled but also possess a passion for technology and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Top performers demonstrate strong analytical abilities, creativity in problem-solving, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Front End Software Engineer
Target companies with H-1B filing history
Employers who have filed H-1B petitions before understand the process and are far less likely to back out mid-hire. Prioritize mid-size and large tech companies with established immigration programs over early-stage startups.
Make your degree field explicit on your resume
Front-end roles qualify as specialty occupations when tied to a computer science, software engineering, or information systems degree. State your degree field clearly so hiring managers can quickly confirm sponsorship eligibility without extra back-and-forth.
Raise sponsorship early, not after the offer
Bringing up visa needs after an offer creates friction. Mention your sponsorship requirement during the recruiter screen so only genuinely willing employers move you forward, saving everyone time in the process.
Emphasize framework depth, not breadth
Hiring managers for sponsored roles want to minimize risk. Deep expertise in React, Vue, or Angular signals a hire worth the sponsorship investment. A generalist profile is harder to justify in a petition than a clear specialization.
Understand the H-1B lottery timeline before you apply
H-1B registrations open in March for an October 1 start date. If you need status by a specific date, factor that gap into your job search. Some employers offer cap-exempt roles or can sponsor E-3 visas for Australian citizens.
Build a portfolio that removes doubt
A strong public portfolio of shipped products reduces employer hesitation around sponsorship. It demonstrates professional-level output and gives hiring managers concrete evidence to justify the petition internally to leadership and legal teams.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a front-end software engineer role qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Yes, front-end software engineer positions consistently qualify as H-1B visa specialty occupations. USCIS requires that the role normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field, computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline. Roles requiring any general degree, regardless of field, would not qualify, so the job description must tie the position to a technical degree field specifically.
What if my degree is in a field adjacent to computer science, like mathematics or electrical engineering?
Adjacent degrees can support an H-1B petition if your coursework is relevant to front-end development and the employer can demonstrate a logical connection. USCIS evaluates degree-job alignment case by case. A credential evaluation from a recognized agency strengthens the case. Degrees in unrelated fields face higher scrutiny and may require a Request for Evidence from USCIS.
How common is visa sponsorship for front-end engineers compared to other tech roles?
Front-end engineering is one of the more frequently sponsored tech disciplines. DOL LCA disclosure data consistently shows large volumes of approved petitions for front-end and software engineer titles at major employers including Google, Amazon, and Meta, as well as mid-size product companies. You can browse actively sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for visa-sponsoring roles.
Can I get sponsored on an E-3 visa as a front-end engineer if I'm Australian?
Yes. Front-end software engineer roles qualify for the E-3 visa under the specialty occupation requirement, the same standard as the H-1B. The E-3 has no lottery, a 10,500 annual cap that has never been reached, and allows unlimited two-year renewals. Australian citizens can apply directly at a U.S. consulate in Australia without waiting for an October start date.
Will employers sponsor front-end engineers for a green card, not just an H-1B?
Many do, but it's typically not offered upfront and depends on how long you've been with the company and how valued you are. Most green card sponsorship for software engineers goes through the EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based categories via PERM labor certification. It's reasonable to ask about long-term sponsorship intentions during the offer negotiation stage, not during initial interviews.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Front End Software Engineer jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
