This role will be the primary subject matter expert on advertising metrics within the team, tasked with translating complex product data—specifically Nielsen One (N1) Ads & Outcomes and Ad Intel —into actionable narratives that empower our sales teams, marketing goals and client needs. This role also serves as the central insights hub for Nielsen’s top-tier strategic accounts. You will act as the bridge between our complex product capabilities and our clients' specific business objectives, providing dedicated, high-touch support that drives product adoption and incremental revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Expertise: Serve as the team’s go-to expert on advertising metrics and effectiveness. You will leverage deep knowledge of Nielsen One (N1) Ads & Outcomes, Ad Intel and NPower to provide customized product expertise, proof-points and case studies.
- Custom Content Creation: Develop high-impact, personalized materials for growth target account meetings, including bespoke pitch decks, quick-hit insights, and deep-dive analyses tailored to unique client business objectives.
- Intake & Prioritization Management: Oversee the request intake process for strategic accounts. You will prioritize incoming projects based on revenue impact and capacity, ensuring the Insights Lab remains agile and effective.
- Outcome-Led Storytelling: Partner with Product Marketing and sales teams to translate complex data into simple, differentiated narratives. Your goal is to move beyond feature-led storytelling to clearly articulate the business impact of Nielsen solutions.
Qualifications
- 10+ Years of Experience in research, insights, data analytics or measurement at a media company, streamer, brand, agency or advertiser; focus on storytelling with data.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Proven expertise in advertising metrics and measurement, with fluency in Nielsen One (N1) Ads & Outcomes and Ad Intel, as well as NPower.

- Analytical Rigor: Ability to synthesize complex quantitative data into clear, compelling stories. You are comfortable producing both quick-turnaround data points and comprehensive deep-dive analyses.
- Operational Excellence: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. You are comfortable with an intake-heavy, fast-paced environment and can build systems to manage capacity.
- Collaboration: A natural relationship builder who can work seamlessly across cross-functional teams (Sales, Product, Marketing) to ensure alignment and consistent, high-quality output.

Target companies with a sponsorship track record
Employers who have sponsored H-1B petitions for senior product roles before are far more likely to do it again. Look for companies with multiple prior LCA filings for Director or Head-level positions, which signals an established internal sponsorship process.
Establish your specialty occupation case early
USCIS scrutinizes product leadership roles because the degree requirement isn't always obvious. Frame your background around a specific discipline, such as computer science, engineering, or business, and ensure your resume directly connects your degree to your product responsibilities.
Distinguish yourself with a measurable impact narrative
Sponsoring a Head of Product is a significant investment for employers. Come prepared with specific metrics: revenue driven, products shipped, team size led, and business outcomes delivered. Concrete numbers make your case for sponsorship easier for employers to justify internally.
Understand your timeline before accepting an offer
If you need an H-1B and aren't already in the lottery pool, timing matters significantly. Discuss cap-exempt alternatives or O-1 visa eligibility with an immigration attorney before signing, so both you and the employer have a realistic plan from day one.
Consider O-1A if your track record is strong
Heads of Product with industry recognition, speaking engagements, significant press coverage, or a history of leading high-profile product launches may qualify for the O-1A extraordinary ability visa, which has no lottery and no annual cap.
Get role requirements documented clearly in writing
The LCA and H-1B petition must demonstrate the position requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Ask your employer to document the educational and technical requirements for the role formally before the immigration attorney begins drafting the petition.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Head of Product role qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Yes, Head of Product roles can qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship as specialty occupations, but the case requires careful framing. USCIS expects the position to normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as computer science, engineering, business, or a related discipline. Roles where any degree qualifies regardless of field face higher scrutiny. Employers with prior H-1B filings for similar titles are strongest candidates for approval.
What visa types are available for Head of Product candidates who miss the H-1B lottery?
If you don't get selected in the H-1B lottery, the O-1A extraordinary ability visa is the most viable alternative for senior product leaders. It has no lottery and no annual cap, but requires demonstrating exceptional achievement through criteria like awards, press coverage, high compensation relative to peers, or leading critical projects. Some candidates also explore L-1A intracompany transfer visas if their employer has a parent, subsidiary, or affiliate abroad.
Does my degree need to be in a specific field to qualify?
For H-1B approval, your degree should relate directly to the product role you're filling. Computer science, software engineering, information systems, business administration, and human-computer interaction are all commonly accepted fields. A degree in an unrelated discipline can complicate the specialty occupation argument. If your degree doesn't match cleanly, documented equivalent experience through the three-for-one rule may help, but this adds complexity to the petition.
How do I find Head of Product jobs that offer visa sponsorship?
Most job postings don't advertise sponsorship willingness upfront, which makes filtering difficult on general platforms. Migrate Mate is built specifically for visa-sponsored roles and lets you browse Head of Product and senior product leadership positions at employers who have a demonstrated history of sponsoring international candidates. Filtering by sponsorship eligibility at the start saves significant time and avoids conversations with employers who won't sponsor.
Are Head of Product H-1B petitions commonly approved?
Approval rates for senior product roles vary depending on how well the petition documents the degree requirement. When employers clearly establish that the position requires a specific technical or business degree and the candidate's background aligns, approvals are common. Requests for Evidence are more likely when the job description is broad or the stated degree requirement is generic. Working with an experienced immigration attorney significantly improves petition quality and approval likelihood.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Head Of Product jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
