INTRODUCTION
The product operations team enables product excellence at scale at Datadog. With over thirty standalone products on a single platform, product operations drives consistency, efficiency, and quality across the organization.
As a Product Operations Manager, you will help the product organization do its best work. You'll build and scale the processes, frameworks, and cross-functional workflows that enable PMs and their partners to ship effectively. This includes touchpoints with inbound, delivery, outbound workstreams in product development. This is a role for someone who thrives in the space between teams: driving alignment, removing friction, and ensuring that the operational foundations of the product org can keep pace with Datadog's growth.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture, the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do:
- Own and improve the full Product Development Life Cycle. Own and drive operational excellence for product launches. This includes coordinating across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Support to ensure we are ready to bring quality products and support to our customers.
- Build AI-powered workflows and agents that automate and accelerate operational work. From customer feedback triage to launch tracking to cross-functional reporting, you'll experiment with and deploy AI tools and custom agents to help the product org move faster and smarter.
- Build and maintain a single source of truth for launches giving cross-functional partners real-time visibility into what's shipping, when, and what's needed from each team.
- Drive centralized product knowledge and enablement, ensuring PMs and stakeholders have the tools, resources, templates, and context they need to succeed and making it easily discoverable.
- Analyze and quantify product signals. Query product, CRM, and customer data systems to surface high-signal insights — aggregating and quantifying feature requests, identifying revenue opportunities, and measuring the impact of product decisions. You'll bring an analytical lens to operational work, turning raw data into clear, actionable recommendations for PMs and leadership.
Who You Are:
- 4+ years of experience in product operations, program management, or a related relevant experience
- Experience collaborating across multiple departments (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, etc.) and aligning stakeholders with different priorities toward shared outcomes.
- Experience communicating with and presenting to senior leadership at the Director+ level, both in writing and live settings.
- Hands-on experience with product management and engineering tools (Jira, Confluence, GitHub, or similar), with a willingness to build and improve tooling as needs evolve.
- Experience working in ambiguous environments where you've had to define the approach, prove out value quickly, and iterate, not just maintain an existing playbook.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence rather than authority, building trust and driving outcomes across teams you don't directly manage.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of software engineering, technical product management, or other relevant technical experience.
- Experience with GitHub for CI/CD, documentation workflows, or collaboration with engineering teams.
- Proficiency in programming languages or SQL for data analysis, automation, or scripting
- Experience building or deploying AI agents or automated workflows using frameworks
- Professional use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor, including prompt engineering and integrating AI into day-to-day workflows.
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We know not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your experience, we encourage you to apply.
BENEFITS & GROWTH:
- New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
- Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
- Intra-departmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
- An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds
- Access to Inclusion Talks, our internal panel discussions
- Free, global Spring Health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
- Competitive global benefits

Target companies with established product teams
Focus on tech companies, SaaS platforms, and product-driven organizations that regularly hire product operations roles and have existing visa sponsorship infrastructure.
Emphasize your analytical background
Highlight experience with data analysis, process optimization, and cross-functional coordination to demonstrate the specialized skills that justify H-1B sponsorship requirements.
Business or technical degree works
Product operations roles accept various educational backgrounds including business administration, industrial engineering, computer science, or related analytical fields for visa eligibility.
Showcase process improvement projects
Document specific examples where you streamlined workflows, implemented new systems, or improved team efficiency to demonstrate specialty occupation qualifications.
Consider product-adjacent companies
Look beyond pure tech companies to retail, healthcare, financial services, and other industries with complex product operations that require specialized coordination skills.

Frequently Asked Questions
What degree do I need for Product Operations Manager H-1B sponsorship?
A bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial engineering, computer science, or related analytical field typically qualifies. The key is demonstrating how your education connects to the specialized analytical and coordination skills required for product operations work.
Do Product Operations Manager roles commonly get H-1B approval?
Yes, when properly documented as specialty occupations requiring analytical skills, process optimization expertise, and cross-functional coordination abilities. USCIS typically approves these roles when the job description emphasizes technical analysis and specialized business processes rather than general management tasks.
How to find Product Operations Manager jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Product Operations Manager jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international candidates with sponsored opportunities. Focus on tech companies, SaaS startups, and multinational corporations that frequently sponsor H-1B visa, O-1 visa, and other work visas for product management roles. These companies value operations expertise for scaling their product teams and processes.
Can I get sponsored without prior product operations experience?
Many employers sponsor candidates with adjacent experience in business analysis, project management, or operations roles. Emphasize transferable skills in data analysis, process improvement, and cross-team coordination to demonstrate your qualifications for the specialized nature of product operations work.
Which visa types work best for Product Operations Manager roles?
H-1B is most common, but E-3 visa works for Australians, TN visa for Canadians with relevant degrees, and O-1 for those with exceptional achievements in business operations. The role's analytical requirements and degree dependency make it suitable for specialty occupation visas.
What if my job title is different but duties are similar?
Focus on the actual job responsibilities rather than the title. Roles like Business Operations Analyst, Product Strategy Coordinator, or Operations Program Manager with similar analytical and coordination duties can qualify for sponsorship when the job description emphasizes specialized skills and degree requirements.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Product Operations Manager jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
