Target enterprise and consulting employers
Large system integrators like Accenture, Deloitte, and Cognizant sponsor Salesforce Architects regularly. Enterprise software companies and Fortune 500 firms with internal Salesforce practices also file LCAs for this title at high rates.
Certifications strengthen your H-1B case
Salesforce certifications, particularly Certified Technical Architect, reinforce the specialty occupation argument for your H-1B petition. USCIS scrutinizes architecture roles, and credentials demonstrate the specialized knowledge requirement beyond a generalist degree.
Align your degree field to the role
A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering maps cleanly to this role. If your degree is in a different field, document how your coursework and experience specifically prepared you for systems architecture work.
Understand the LCA before you accept an offer
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application before your H-1B petition. Confirm the job posting reflects your actual duties and work location, since the LCA is tied to a specific position and worksite.
O-1A is a realistic alternative if you have the track record
Salesforce Architects with a history of leading complex implementations, speaking at conferences, or contributing to the community may qualify for O-1A extraordinary ability. It has no lottery and no annual cap.
Remote and hybrid roles expand your employer pool
Many Salesforce Architect roles are remote-eligible, which means you are not limited to employers in major metro areas. A broader employer pool increases your chances of finding a company with an active sponsorship history.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Salesforce Architect role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B?
Yes. Salesforce Architect consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. USCIS has approved this title regularly, particularly when the petition documentation ties the degree requirement to specific technical duties like systems design, integration architecture, and platform governance.
How hard is it to find employers sponsoring Salesforce Architects?
It's one of the more sponsorship-friendly titles in the Salesforce ecosystem. System integrators, large consulting firms, and enterprise companies with Salesforce practices file LCAs for this role with regularity. You can browse active sponsor employers on Migrate Mate, which surfaces companies with a verified history of filing for this job title.
Do I need the Salesforce Certified Technical Architect credential to get sponsored?
No, but it helps. The CTA credential strengthens your H-1B visa petition by demonstrating the specialized expertise USCIS looks for in architecture roles. Associate or specialist-level certifications combined with strong work history are typically sufficient. The more your petition documents role-specific technical complexity, the stronger the specialty occupation argument becomes.
Can a Salesforce Architect get sponsored on an L-1A visa instead of H-1B?
Yes, if you've worked for the same multinational employer abroad for at least one year in a managerial or executive capacity. L-1A bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely. Some Salesforce Architects use this path by working for a consulting firm's international office first, then transferring to the U.S. entity. It requires the employer to have qualifying U.S. and foreign offices.
What if my degree is not in a technical field, can I still get H-1B sponsorship as a Salesforce Architect?
Possibly. USCIS allows a combination of education and experience to satisfy the specialty occupation standard: three years of relevant experience can substitute for one year of formal education. If your degree is in business or a related field and you have substantial Salesforce architecture experience, your employer's immigration attorney can build a case, though approval is less straightforward than with a directly relevant technical degree.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Salesforce Architect jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
