Role Overview
This role sits at the intersection of SEO, AI search, PR, and structured content optimization. The AI Visibility Specialist analyzes how brands appear across generative AI platforms and develops strategies to improve their presence in AI-generated answers.
Unlike traditional SEO roles focused mainly on keyword rankings, this role focuses on how large language models interpret, reference, and recommend brands.
You will work with AI visibility diagnostics, prompt testing frameworks, schema analysis, and long-form content strategies designed to improve AI discoverability.
This role reports to the Director of Marketing and collaborates closely with the marketing and content teams.

- Perform keyword and entity research supporting SEO and AI visibility
- Monitor responses across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity to identify patterns
- Collaborate with marketing teams to improve search and AI visibility performance
- Stay updated on trends in AI search behavior and LLM citation patterns
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of SEO experience, ideally in a digital marketing or B2B agency
- Strong understanding of technical SEO, on-page optimization, and content strategy
- Experience with tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Screaming Frog
- Strong analytical skills and ability to turn research into actionable insights
- Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain attention to detail
- Strong writing skills for structured long-form content
- Curiosity about generative AI and its impact on search
Bonus Experience
- Experience analyzing AI-generated responses or LLM outputs
- Familiarity with schema markup, entity optimization, and structured data tools
- Understanding how AI models extract and reference web information
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
- Experience working with B2B or enterprise clients
Why This Role Is Unique
AI-driven discovery is rapidly changing how buyers research vendors.
While most marketing teams still focus on traditional search rankings, Zen Media is helping define a new discipline: AI Visibility.
In this role, you will help develop strategies that improve how brands appear in AI-generated answers across multiple platforms, placing you at the forefront of a major shift in digital marketing.
What’s Your Next Step?
If you are passionate about SEO and the future of AI-driven discovery, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll join a team helping global B2B brands improve their visibility in the evolving AI search ecosystem.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Seo Specialist
Target roles that require a degree, not just experience
H-1B eligibility depends on the role qualifying as a specialty occupation. Look for SEO postings that explicitly require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field rather than listing a degree as preferred.
Focus on mid-to-large companies with prior H-1B filings
Smaller agencies rarely have immigration infrastructure in place. Companies with 500-plus employees in tech, retail, or media are far more likely to have sponsored before and are equipped to navigate the H-1B petition process efficiently.
Frame your expertise around technical SEO where possible
Technical SEO roles involving site architecture, JavaScript rendering, or crawl optimization are easier to justify as specialty occupations. Pure content or link-building roles face more scrutiny because the degree requirement is harder to defend.
Highlight cross-functional work with engineering and data teams
Sponsorship decisions often involve legal review of the job description. Emphasizing collaboration with developers on site performance or using analytics tools strengthens the case that the role requires specialized, degree-level knowledge.
Bring documentation of your degree-to-role connection
USCIS scrutinizes SEO roles more than traditional tech positions. Having a clear narrative linking your degree field directly to the job duties, supported by an offer letter with detailed responsibilities, significantly reduces the risk of an RFE.

Sponsorship willingness varies significantly by industry. Migrate Mate filters SEO roles by visa sponsorship availability, so you can focus your applications on employers who have already committed to sponsoring rather than discovering their policy after an offer.

Find Seo Specialist JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Can an SEO Specialist get H-1B visa sponsorship?
Yes, but the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. SEO roles tied to marketing strategy, analytics, or technical web performance are more defensible than generalist content roles. USCIS has issued RFEs for SEO positions before, so the job description and degree alignment matter more than the title alone.
What degree do I need for an SEO Specialist role to qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Most approved H-1B petitions for SEO roles cite degrees in marketing, communications, information systems, or computer science. The key is that the degree must be directly relevant to the job duties described in the petition. A general business degree alone is often not sufficient unless the position description emphasizes a specific analytical or technical specialization.
How likely is it that an SEO Specialist role gets approved by USCIS?
Approval rates for marketing-related H-1B petitions have historically been lower than for engineering or finance roles, and SEO is among the categories that draws RFEs. Roles framed around technical SEO, data analysis, or platform-specific expertise have a stronger approval track record. Working with an experienced immigration attorney to draft the job description and support letter is strongly recommended.
Are there visa options besides H-1B for SEO Specialists?
Yes. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is much faster. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify under the TN visa in the marketing professional category. Exceptionally accomplished SEO professionals with a strong portfolio of industry recognition, published research, or measurable business impact may also qualify for the O-1A visa as an extraordinary ability candidate.
Where can I find SEO Specialist jobs that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists SEO roles filtered specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you're only seeing positions where the employer has indicated willingness to sponsor. This saves significant time compared to applying broadly and asking about sponsorship after multiple interview rounds, which is common with standard job searches in this field.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Seo Specialist jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
