Find Technology Business Partner JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Do Technology Business Partner roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Yes, when the position requires specialized technical knowledge in areas like enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, or digital transformation. The role must demonstrate complexity beyond general business consulting, typically requiring a computer science, information systems, or related technical degree to meet specialty occupation standards.
What degree do I need for H-1B approval as a Technology Business Partner?
Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration with IT concentration, or Engineering degrees typically work best. The degree field should align with the technical aspects of your role. Some positions may accept business degrees if combined with significant technical certifications and experience.
Which companies sponsor H-1B visas for Technology Business Partners?
Technology consulting firms like Deloitte, Accenture, and IBM regularly sponsor this role. Enterprise software companies, cloud providers, and large corporations undergoing digital transformations also sponsor Technology Business Partners, particularly those with specialized platform expertise in Salesforce, ServiceNow, or enterprise systems.
How to find Technology Business Partner jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Technology Business Partner jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international candidates with sponsoring employers. Focus your search on large tech companies, consulting firms like Big Four, and scale-up businesses that commonly sponsor H-1B, O-1, and other work visas. These organizations frequently need Technology Business Partners to bridge IT and business operations.
How do approval rates differ for Technology Business Partner H-1B petitions?
Approval rates are generally favorable when the role clearly demonstrates technical specialization. Positions focused on specific platforms or technical implementations see higher approval rates than generic business consulting roles. The key is establishing the technical complexity and specialized knowledge requirements.
Can I transition from Technology Business Partner to other visa categories?
Yes, this role often provides strong experience for EB-2 green card applications through PERM, particularly when demonstrating advanced technical skills and leadership in complex implementations. The combination of business and technical expertise also supports O-1 applications for those with significant achievements in technology transformation.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Technology Business Partner jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
