Mid Level Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level vocational rehabilitation counselor job?
Position your existing experience around caseload complexity and independent decision-making. Highlight specific populations you have worked with, tools like vocational assessments and individualized employment plans you have managed solo, and measurable client employment outcomes. Employers at this level want evidence that you can carry a full caseload without close supervision, so lead with concrete results and any specialized certifications such as the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credential.
Which companies hire mid level vocational rehabilitation counselors?

Are there remote mid level vocational rehabilitation counselor jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and client population. About 0% of mid level vocational rehabilitation counselor openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with fully remote roles most common in positions focused on job coaching, career counseling, and case coordination rather than hands-on clinical assessment or in-person job placement support.
How do I move up to a mid level vocational rehabilitation counselor role?
Growth from entry level to mid level comes from building depth across increasingly complex cases, developing familiarity with the full vocational rehabilitation process from intake through job placement, and taking ownership of client outcomes without relying heavily on supervisor direction. Earning the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credential, demonstrating measurable placement success, and seeking out cases involving significant barriers to employment all signal readiness for mid level responsibilities.
