Who's Hiring

VP Marketing Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a vp marketing job in Washington?
Washington's vp marketing market is driven by federal contractors, national associations, nonprofits, and a growing technology and media sector, so experience marketing to both institutional and consumer audiences carries real weight here. Roles concentrate in the central business district, Georgetown, and Capitol Riverfront. Candidates who can demonstrate measurable brand or demand-generation results, and who understand the policy-adjacent communication environment unique to Washington, tend to stand out.
Which companies hire vp marketings in Washington?
Washington vp marketing roles are posted by Marvik, Checkbook, and First Book and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The Washington market includes a distinctive mix of government contractors, advocacy organizations, professional associations, and venture-backed tech companies, all of which maintain dedicated marketing leadership.
Are there remote vp marketing jobs in Washington?
Yes, though at the vp level remote availability varies: strategic and brand-focused roles often allow hybrid arrangements, while roles tied to events, lobbying, or stakeholder relations typically require in-person presence. About 83% of vp marketing openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. Digital marketing and content strategy responsibilities are the most commonly performed remotely within Washington-based vp marketing roles.
How can I get a vp marketing job in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic path in Washington is building up through director or senior marketing manager roles at an association, nonprofit, or mid-size contractor, which are unusually accessible entry points here compared to other markets. Washington's dense association community and federal agency communications offices regularly hire marketing managers who grow into leadership. Demonstrating membership marketing, advocacy communications, or stakeholder engagement experience gives candidates a local edge that purely commercial backgrounds may lack.
