- 3+ years of successful experience in account management, consultative sales, business development, or technology solution sales.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets and growing existing customer accounts through expansion, upsell, or cross-sell strategies.
- Strong experience managing customer relationships and building credibility with decision-makers and executive-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to uncover client needs, navigate objections, and recommend solutions that align with business goals and outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation, proposal, and negotiation capabilities.
- Strong business acumen and comfort discussing technology, managed services, cybersecurity, cloud, or related IT solutions.
- Experience maintaining accurate pipeline activity, account plans, and sales forecasts in Salesforce.com or a comparable CRM platform.
- Highly organized with strong follow-through, time management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Who's Hiring

Account Manager Jobs in Baltimore: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a account manager job in Baltimore?
Baltimore's strongest hiring comes from its healthcare systems, cybersecurity firms, and Port-adjacent logistics and supply chain companies, so tailoring your experience to one of those sectors gives you a clear edge. Roles concentrate in the Inner Harbor, Harbor East, and the Corridor biotech cluster near Johns Hopkins. Candidates who can show territory ownership, renewal rates, or revenue growth on their resume move faster through local hiring processes.
Which companies hire account managers in Baltimore?
Companies currently hiring account managers in Baltimore include Thrive, Danfoss, and Komatsu, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Baltimore's mix of large health systems, mid-size cybersecurity firms, and regional financial services companies means account manager openings appear across a wide range of employer sizes and deal cycles.
Are there remote account manager jobs in Baltimore?
Yes, though availability depends on the sector, as account manager roles in field sales and healthcare account management tend to require on-site presence while SaaS and tech-adjacent roles are more often remote. About 100% of account manager openings tied to Baltimore are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the highest concentration of flexible arrangements coming from cybersecurity and software employers based in Harbor East and Rockville.
How can I get a account manager job in Baltimore with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Baltimore is starting as a sales development representative or client services coordinator at one of the city's mid-size healthcare IT or financial services firms, where internal promotion to account manager is common. Companies near the Biotech Park and Inner Harbor regularly hire entry-level commercial roles. A bachelor's degree, comfort with CRM tools, and any internship showing client-facing communication will separate you from other applicants in Baltimore's competitive but accessible market.
