Account Manager Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a account manager job in Boston?
Focus your search on Boston's Seaport District and Back Bay, where technology, life sciences, and professional services firms hire the most account managers. Familiarity with SaaS sales cycles or biotech client workflows gives candidates a clear edge in this market. Networking through local industry groups and targeting mid-size growth companies in Cambridge and Kendall Square also opens doors faster than applying to large enterprises cold.
Which companies hire account managers in Boston?
Boston account manager roles are posted by Perk, Galderma, and Alliant Insurance Services and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Boston's hiring mix leans toward technology vendors, healthcare and life sciences firms, and financial services companies, many of which maintain regional headquarters or major offices in the city.
Are there remote account manager jobs in Boston?
Yes, though availability depends on the role: desk-based and software account management tends to be more remote-friendly, while roles requiring regular client site visits are typically in-person. About 84% of account manager openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the city's strong technology and SaaS employer base. Enterprise software and marketing technology firms in the Seaport and Back Bay post the most flexible arrangements.
How can I get a account manager job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is starting as a sales development representative or account coordinator at a Seaport-area SaaS company, where structured training programs are common and internal promotion to account management is a clear track. Boston's dense cluster of health tech and medtech firms also hires entry-level client success associates who move into account management within one to two years. A demonstrated ability to manage client communication and hit activity metrics matters more than a long resume at this stage.

Most account manager openings in Boston sit in Insurance, Distribution & Wholesale, and Education, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Boston's concentration of venture-backed technology companies, world-class hospitals and biotech firms, and major financial institutions creates sustained demand for account managers who can manage complex, long-term client relationships.
