We Are:
Accenture LearnVantage is Accenture's learning and skilling business. We help organizations build the workforce capability they need to adopt innovative technologies and get full value from their transformation investments across AI, cloud, data and analytics, software engineering, DevOps, and other in-demand technical domains.
Our portfolio spans instructor-led training, digital learning, role-based skilling pathways, technical certifications, and workforce transformation services, all built around measurable business and mission outcomes. We work across a broad ecosystem of technology providers and hyperscalers, including Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, IBM, and SAP, to build practical technical capability at scale.
For federal agencies, LearnVantage works in close partnership with Accenture Federal Services (AFS) to help government organizations modernize mission systems, accelerate AI adoption, strengthen cybersecurity readiness, and build the technical talent their missions demand. This role sits within LearnVantage on the LLP side and drives federal growth through three complementary paths: partnership with AFS on strategic pursuits, engagement with federal channel partners and aggregators, and direct LearnVantage-led selling where the opportunity profile and thresholds support it.
You Are:
An experienced federal sales professional who knows how learning, training, workforce development, and technology skilling solutions are procured across Federal Civilian and Department of Defense customers. You understand what it takes to sell learning and skilling into government specifically: the procurement paths, the funding cycles, the contract vehicles, and the mix of mission owners, training leaders, program offices, and technical decision-makers who shape a buy.
You have sold instructor-led training, technical certifications, digital learning platforms, workforce transformation programs, AI skilling, or related solutions into federal agencies, and you can point to the results.
You run a multi-pronged motion comfortably. You partner with AFS account teams when strategic alignment opens a door; you work through federal channel partners to reach agencies and transact through their contract vehicles; and you generate your own pipeline directly when neither path applies. You know which lane fits a given opportunity, and you can move across all three to create, develop, and close business.
The Work:
Grow LearnVantage business across Federal Civilian and Department of Defense accounts through three complementary motions: partnership with Accenture Federal Services, engagement with federal channel partners, and direct LearnVantage-led selling.
Develop and manage relationships with federal channel partners and aggregators to expand market reach, access contract vehicles, and transact LearnVantage solutions efficiently.
Build and own a qualified federal pipeline through self-generated business development including prospecting, industry engagement, events, contract-vehicle activity, and referrals alongside partner- and channel-sourced opportunities.
Partner with AFS account teams to position LearnVantage within broader mission modernization, AI, cloud, cyber, and workforce transformation initiatives.
Pursue direct LearnVantage-led federal opportunities where scope, threshold, buying path, or client need supports a motion outside an AFS-led engagement.
Engage federal training leaders, workforce development stakeholders, mission owners, technical leaders, contracting personnel, and executive sponsors to understand priorities, funding realities, and desired outcomes.
Translate agency workforce gaps into practical learning and skilling solutions: instructor-led programs, certification pathways, digital learning, role-based skilling, and custom engagements.
Partner with LearnVantage solution architecture, delivery, curriculum, and product teams to shape credible, deliverable solutions and strong client outcomes.
Own qualification, forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM discipline, and lead responses to federal RFIs, RFPs, and task orders in coordination with internal and AFS teams.
Bring federal market intelligence (competitor moves, buying signals, and client needs) back to LearnVantage leadership to sharpen offerings and go-to-market priorities.
This is a hybrid role. Travel of up to 25% is required, depending on customer activity, pursuits, and events, concentrated around the DC metro area and key agency locations.
Here's What You Need:
-
Minimum of 5 years sales experience in the training, learning, or workforce development industry, with proven success selling to federal clients (Federal Civilian and/or Department of Defense).
-
Minimum of 5 years experience selling with or through federal channel partners, resellers, or aggregators, including transacting through their contract vehicles.
-
Minimum of 5 years experience selling one or more of: instructor-led technical training, IT certifications, AI skilling, digital learning platforms, or cloud, data, software development, DevOps, or cybersecurity training.
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience.
Bonus Points If:
-
You've sold federal learning or skilling solutions for a digital learning provider, an instructor-led training company, an IT certification provider, or a workforce development firm.
-
You know federal contract vehicles and buying mechanisms including BPA, GWAC, IDIQ, GSA schedules, SEWP, agency training budgets, and small-dollar training purchases.
-
You've sold alongside or partnered with large federal systems integrators, including Accenture Federal Services or comparable organizations.
-
You have depth in high-demand technical training domains: AI and generative AI, cloud, data, cybersecurity, software engineering, or DevOps.
-
You know the major technology vendor learning ecosystems (Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, IBM, SAP, and NVIDIA).
-
You've sold both standalone training engagements and larger workforce transformation or enterprise skilling programs.
-
You hold an active security clearance or are eligible to obtain one.
-
You're comfortable in a business that is still taking shape and want to help build the go-to-market motion as it matures.
Professional Skills Required:
-
Demonstrated ability to self-source pipeline and to sell through partners including prospecting, account planning, event follow-up, referral development, and opportunity qualification.
-
Working knowledge of how federal agencies buy training and skilling: procurement paths, contracting considerations, funding cycles, and stakeholder alignment.
-
Proven relationships and credibility with federal training leaders, program offices, contracting teams, technical leaders, and executive sponsors.
-
Consultative selling skills that connect learning investments to mission outcomes and workforce readiness.
-
Strong written and verbal communication: proposals, executive briefings, and client presentations.

How do I get an account manager job in Arlington?
Focus your search on Arlington's dominant sectors: defense and government contracting, federal IT services, and technology consulting firms clustered along the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor and in Crystal City. Employers in these sectors prize candidates with experience managing government or enterprise accounts, familiarity with federal procurement cycles, and strong relationship management skills. Tailoring your resume to government-adjacent client work gives you a clear edge over generalist applicants in this market.
Which companies hire account managers in Arlington?
Employers hiring account managers in Arlington right now include Amazon Web Services, AECOM, and Logic, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Arlington's employer base leans heavily toward defense contractors, federal technology integrators, and professional services firms with government agency clients.
Are there remote account manager jobs in Arlington?
Yes, though availability depends on the sector. Account manager roles involving active client visits or government site access tend to be on-site, while SaaS, media, and inside sales positions run more remote-friendly. About 100% of account manager openings tied to Arlington are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common among commercial technology firms in the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor.
How can I get an account manager job in Arlington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Arlington is through sales development or customer success roles at commercial technology and SaaS firms concentrated in the Ballston and Virginia Square areas, where companies regularly promote from within. Defense and IT services contractors also hire associate account coordinators who support senior managers on federal accounts. Highlighting any client-facing internships, CRM tool experience, or familiarity with government procurement vocabulary will strengthen your application at Arlington employers.
