Accountant Jobs in Santa Clara: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an accountant job in Santa Clara?
Santa Clara's heaviest accounting demand comes from semiconductor companies, enterprise software firms, and the professional services firms that support them. Jobs concentrate along the Central Expressway corridor and near the Great America technology campuses. Candidates with experience in revenue recognition under ASC 606, cost accounting for hardware manufacturing, or inter-company consolidations stand out here. Familiarity with the close cycles and audit requirements typical of publicly traded tech companies gives applicants a clear edge.
Which companies hire accountants in Santa Clara?
Employers hiring accountants in Santa Clara right now include AMD, TP TEA, and ServiceNow, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Santa Clara draws a mix of large publicly traded chipmakers and cloud infrastructure companies alongside mid-size technology hardware firms, all of which maintain in-house accounting teams for financial reporting, tax compliance, and cost analysis.
Are there remote accountant jobs in Santa Clara?
Yes, though availability depends on the role. Desk-based functions like general ledger accounting, financial analysis, and tax preparation lend themselves to remote work, while roles tied to on-site inventory, fixed assets, or physical operations are typically on-site. About 50% of accountant openings tied to Santa Clara are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. In Santa Clara specifically, hybrid arrangements are most common at larger tech firms with established distributed work policies.
How can I get an accountant job in Santa Clara with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Santa Clara is targeting accounts payable, accounts receivable, or junior staff accountant roles at mid-size technology hardware or semiconductor companies, which tend to hire for volume and train on proprietary ERP systems. Local firms near the Mission College campus sometimes hire recent graduates from Mission College or Santa Clara University's accounting programs. Proficiency in Excel, basic familiarity with NetSuite or SAP, and a CPA exam candidacy all strengthen an entry-level application meaningfully.
