How do I get a administrative assistant job in San Francisco?
Focus on sectors that drive the most hiring in San Francisco: technology companies in SoMa and Mission Bay, financial services firms in the Financial District, healthcare systems anchored around UCSF and Kaiser, and law firms clustered near the Civic Center. Candidates who combine calendar management, expense reporting, and proficiency with tools like Google Workspace or Salesforce stand out. Applying directly to company careers pages while targeting mid-size firms often moves faster than chasing the largest employers.
Which companies hire administrative assistants in San Francisco?

How can I get a administrative assistant job in San Francisco with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in San Francisco is through temp-to-hire placements at staffing agencies that serve downtown firms, which regularly fill short-term contracts that convert to full-time roles. Smaller tech startups in SoMa, nonprofit organizations in the Tenderloin and Mission districts, and healthcare clinics affiliated with UCSF frequently hire entry-level candidates willing to handle reception, scheduling, and general office support. Demonstrating fluency with Google Workspace and a willingness to take on coordinator responsibilities accelerates advancement.
