Ryve is a technology-driven transportation and dispatch company building software that helps transportation providers, dispatchers, drivers, and passengers manage trips more safely and efficiently.

Our platform includes mobile applications and operational tools for managing drivers, trip assignments, real-time trip statuses, GPS and location tracking, driver documentation, notifications, communication, and other important transportation workflows.

We are looking for a highly capable Senior Mobile Application Developer who can take ownership of our mobile technology, solve difficult problems independently, and help us build a reliable platform that works in real-world transportation environments.

This is not a position for someone who only completes assigned tickets. We are looking for a thoughtful developer who understands the complete product, identifies problems before they become serious, proposes better solutions, and takes responsibility for delivering stable, production-ready features.

What You Will Do

• Develop, maintain, and improve Ryve’s driver and transportation mobile applications.
• Build reliable trip, dispatch, driver, and passenger workflows.
• Develop features involving GPS, real-time location tracking, maps, trip statuses, background services, notifications, cameras, and document uploads.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs and third-party services.
• Diagnose and resolve difficult production bugs.
• Improve application performance, reliability, security, and usability.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code.
• Review existing architecture and recommend practical improvements.
• Work closely with company leadership and operations staff to turn real transportation needs into effective software.
• Monitor application performance and quickly address production issues.
• Use AI development tools to research, build, test, debug, and document software more efficiently.
• Carefully review and validate AI-generated code instead of accepting it without understanding it.
• Take ownership of features from initial planning through deployment and ongoing support.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years of professional mobile application development experience.
• Proven experience developing and releasing production mobile applications.
• Strong knowledge of mobile architecture, application lifecycle, state management, networking, and performance optimization.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, authentication systems, and third-party services.
• Experience with GPS, maps, background location tracking, and push notifications.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of application security, permissions, sensitive information, and secure credential handling.
• Experience writing automated tests and verifying production changes.
• Ability to understand an existing codebase and improve it without unnecessarily rebuilding everything.
• Ability to communicate technical problems and recommendations clearly to nontechnical team members.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take responsibility for results.
• Must provide examples of mobile applications personally developed or significantly contributed to.

AI Development Expectations

Ryve actively supports the responsible use of AI-assisted development tools. The successful candidate should know how to use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codex, or similar platforms to increase development speed and quality.

However, using AI is not a substitute for engineering ability. Candidates must be able to:

• Give AI tools clear technical context and instructions.
• Review and understand all generated code.
• Recognize incorrect, insecure, or inefficient AI-generated solutions.
• Test and validate output before placing it into production.
• Use AI to accelerate strong engineering judgment—not replace it.

Preferred Experience

• Transportation, dispatch, logistics, rideshare, fleet-management, or delivery applications.
• Driver-facing mobile applications used throughout a working day.
• Real-time trip and driver-status updates.
• Google Maps Platform or similar mapping services.
• Background GPS tracking and battery optimization.
• Camera, video, or document-upload functionality.
• Cloud-based backend systems and real-time databases.
• Application monitoring, crash reporting, and analytics.
• Publishing and maintaining applications in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

You should be comfortable working in a growing company where technology directly affects drivers, dispatchers, passengers, and daily transportation operations.

Pay: $122,762.57 - $145,800.09 per year
