Summary
Develop and implement successful marketing and sales solicitation activities to secure new business from specified market segments across two properties. Dream Nashville and Thompson Nashville. Maintain existing business clientele relationships, ensuring maximum profitability for the hotel and quality service for our guests.
Essential Job Functions:
- Grow market share of the business travel accounts through external and internal sales efforts with the purpose of securing business for the hotel in order to ensure that predetermined revenue expectations are met or exceeded.
- Develop and nurture relationships with Travel Managers, Travel Agents and Hotel Chain National Sales Representatives
- Grow market share for the luxury consortia’s and maximize all sales efforts to increase customer base for these preferred accounts.
- Research demand generators in the local market. Utilize Hotelligence and STR reports to identify and secure opportunity accounts as well as to monitor the conditions of the market.
- Effectively balance all of the core direct sales disciplines: prospecting, solicitation, rate quoting, contracting, outside sales calls, site inspections, client entertainment, outside presentations, marketing to in-house guests, networking,
- Attend industry events and trade shows.
- Track account volume production and discuss status with the top customers on a monthly basis.
- Develop and follow Strategic Plans and Actions that support the goal of growing existing accounts, moving market share from the competition, and identifying and securing new accounts.
- Report market segment status and tactics to the Strategy Team on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Respond promptly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with operational departments. Facilitate special events for existing and prospective accounts.
- Prepare a month end recap report for the revenue team.
Qualifications
The Area Director of Travel Industry Sales should demonstrate a thorough understanding and competence in sales, account management functions and the hotel/business travel industry across two properties. Responsibilities include selling guest rooms and Hyatt services to transient market customers through corporate accounts, travel agencies and individual travel. Duties include managing current accounts, ensure proper solicitation of all transient markets, and may include travel to major cities within market.
Essential Qualifications:
1. General knowledge of travel industry, current market trends and economic factors affecting supply and demand
2. Hyatt sales experience preferred with working knowledge of system.
3. A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
4. A minimum of 3 years of corporate hotel sales in a Full-Service Luxury property
5. Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
6. Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
7. Community involvement and/or professional association is highly regarded
8. Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
9. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
10. Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
