Job Responsibilities:
Expected tasks include handling new client meetings, analyzing cases for strengths and weaknesses, drafting briefs on behalf of clients for the Social Security Administration, representing clients by appearing in 10-20 hearings per month before the Social Security Administration, drafting Appeals Council briefs, collaborating with legal assistants, case managers and other staff to gain a full appreciation of the client’s case, participating in discussions and mock oral arguments to prepare for court.
Job Requirements:
Bar admission in any state is required. Social Security experience preferred, but will consider an inexperienced candidate who demonstrates the following:
· Demonstrated interest in helping others
· Ability to quickly learn a new area of law
· Receptive to training and coaching; ability to implement feedback quickly
· Strong interpersonal communication skills and desire to work with a team on a regular basis
· Excellent legal writing, analysis and oral advocacy skills
· Excellent organization and time management skills
We offer a competitive salary, health, dental and vision benefits, and a 401k plan with employer match. This is a full-time position in Phoenix, AZ. Some travel, mostly within the Phoenix Metro area is required, but hearings may take place in various hearings offices around the state of Arizona.
