Aws Engineer Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a aws engineer in Florida?
There is no state-issued license required to work as an aws engineer in Florida. The standard path is earning a bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, then building hands-on cloud skills and obtaining AWS certifications such as the AWS Certified Solutions Architect. Florida's large defense, healthcare, and financial services employers place significant weight on certification, and many candidates gain early experience through cloud support or junior DevOps roles before moving into full engineering positions.
How much do aws engineers make in Florida?
Aws engineers in Florida earn a median of about $132,800 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $81,500 for the lowest 10% to over $184,680 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire aws engineers in Florida?
Employers hiring aws engineers in Florida right now include Accenture Federal Services, FIS, and Versant, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of defense contractors, regional banks, and large hospital networks means demand is distributed across industries rather than being limited to pure technology firms.
Which Florida cities have the most aws engineer jobs?
Tampa, Jacksonville, and Jupiter have the most aws engineer openings in Florida. Miami drives volume through its fintech and Latin American regional headquarters presence, Tampa through its growing cybersecurity and financial services sector, and Orlando through defense contractors and the large healthcare systems based in the metro.
Are there remote aws engineer jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 75% of aws engineer openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how cloud infrastructure work is performed almost entirely through consoles, terminals, and collaboration tools. Architecture, DevOps automation, and cloud security roles are the most likely to be offered with full or partial remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a aws engineer in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a cloud support or IT systems administrator role into an associate-level aws engineer position. Florida's defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin and L3Harris, and large health systems like AdventHealth and HCA Florida, run structured technology associate programs and apprenticeships that accept candidates without direct engineering experience. Earning the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate credential before applying gives candidates a concrete advantage and signals readiness for cloud-specific work.
Where can I find and apply to aws engineer jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to aws engineer jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Florida employers. Search the listings, find roles that fit your experience and location, and apply directly to the ones that match.
