Aws Engineer Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a aws engineer in Georgia?
Aws engineer roles in Georgia do not require a state-issued license, so the path runs through education and cloud certification. Most Georgia employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, combined with at least one AWS certification such as the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. Building hands-on experience through personal projects, open-source contributions, or AWS training labs strengthens a candidacy significantly.
How much do aws engineers make in Georgia?
Aws engineers in Georgia earn a median of about $133,890 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $51,710 for the lowest 10% to over $179,040 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire aws engineers in Georgia?
Employers hiring aws engineers in Georgia right now include Amazon, Truist, and Information Technology Senior Management Forum, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's deep concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and fintech companies in the Atlanta metro makes it one of the more consistently active cloud engineering markets in the Southeast.
Which Georgia cities have the most aws engineer jobs?
Atlanta and Covington have the most aws engineer openings in Georgia. Atlanta leads by a wide margin because it hosts the headquarters and major regional offices of large technology, financial services, and logistics companies, while Alpharetta's established technology corridor and Savannah's growing port-adjacent logistics and operations sector generate consistent cloud engineering demand outside the core metro.
Are there remote aws engineer jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields. Cloud and infrastructure engineering is well suited to remote work because the underlying systems are accessed and managed entirely online. About 50% of aws engineer openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed cloud teams have become. The most fully remote positions tend to be in infrastructure automation, DevOps, and cloud security roles rather than client-facing or embedded engineering positions.
How can I get hired as a aws engineer in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is earning the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification and pairing it with a portfolio of deployed personal or open-source projects. Georgia employers such as NCR Voyix, Cox Enterprises, and large Atlanta-area consulting firms regularly bring in junior cloud associates and IT operations analysts as stepping-stone roles. Candidates moving from adjacent positions such as systems administrator, network engineer, or IT support technician have a strong conversion rate into entry-level cloud roles.
Where can I find and apply to aws engineer jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to aws engineer jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Georgia locations and remote roles based there. Search the listings for positions that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
