General Summary
Primarily responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans within the treatment plan developed by the supervisor.

The campus provides an atmosphere of peace and serenity for our clients. Our most comprehensive continuum of care, which includes more than 20 programs and services is located at this main campus.
At WellSpan Philhaven, we help address mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, attention deficit disorder, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder and more.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Establishes & maintains therapeutic relationship by pairing self as a reinforcing entity and building the value for the patient of social interaction with the RBT.
- Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem solving skills.
- Fades prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding.
- Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations).
- Provides access to reinforcers within the parameters most likely to increase future behavior (value, effort required, rate, magnitude, intensity, immediacy).
- Limits or removes access to reinforcers within limits of safety when patient engages in inappropriate or unsafe behaviors.
- Accurately collects behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval based recording.
- Follows the treatment plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment and seeks out appropriate consultation.
- Collaborates with family and treatment team members to provide treatment effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment.
- Educates all those involved about the role of ABA based interventions and the RBT, and functions within boundaries of the RBT role in providing treatment.
- Maintains awareness of client’s history, present status, diagnoses, and treatment plan.
- Maintains appropriate written documentation of direct one-on-one intervention with the patient and family.
- Provides complete, timely, clear, and legible documentation in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
- Maintains the billable expectation of the program.
- Plans appropriate aftercare in collaboration with patient, parents/guardians, community agencies, and the MCO care manager. Facilitates interagency meetings.
- Serves on-call duty for caseload 50% of the time (every other week).
- Develops a written crisis plan at intake with the family for the child/adolescent.

- Displays caring, non-judgmental attitude toward each patient and family served.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of normal growth and development of children and adolescents.
- Is able to identify key anatomical and physiological changes and can identify psychosocial needs.
- Communicates using age-appropriate vocabulary and speaks to patients with appropriate proximity.
- Is able to identify techniques for enhancing communication and is able to address learning needs.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis through interaction with other ABA based professionals as well as ongoing professional development opportunities within WellSpan Philhaven and maintains certification by meeting training and supervision standards set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Bachelors Degree In behavioral health or human services field. Required or
- Bachelors Degree In a non-behavioral health or human services field with at least one year of full-time paid work experience with children and/or adolescents. Required or
- Associates Degree With at least three years of full-time paid work experience with children and/or adolescents. Required
Work Experience:
- Knowledge of and ability in the care and handling of children and adolescents, including consideration of the special needs and behaviors of this group. Required
Licenses:
- Registered Behavior Technician Upon Hire Required
Driver's License Statement:
Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.

- Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.
- Analytical skills.
- Visual ability to observe patient behavior and dynamics.
